I was kicking around today including playing lots of Steely Dan. Then I got into a discussion on Head-Fi that reignited my very old fondness for Supertramp. After revisiting my tunes I decided to buy Paris, their live album from 1979. Sounds SO good!
I have the HE560 V1s plugged into the OG Lyr with the Modi Multibit 2 doing the decoding from my laptop/Qobuz.
At the top of the queue is Anekdotenās 2003 album Gravity. This is a groove laden prog album that is always a good listen. The production and mixing are a bit hit or miss, but overall I like this album quite a bit.
Ha,haā¦ I saw them live the same year In Toronto Canada July 1979 !! The Breakfast In America Tour.
They were as tight , professional and great sounding in person that night as if I was at a live recordingā¦ I believe their might even be a youtube video from the concert.
Iāll be the guy waving and whistlingā¦
Superb production and female vocal performance.
They played Halifax several times in the 70ās and built a strong following all across Canada. I played that whole concert after lunch. It really took me back to the 70ās. And the quality is pretty good. And it was crazy cheap at $8.00 for a double album.
Cool ā¦I was only in Halifax once . Iām an old school Ontario boy.
We got to see loads of fantastic international acts in the Toronto area thoughā¦ I donāt get to concerts much these days. Tool was my last live showā¦
I wouldnāt have the patience to go to a concert anymore. People just annoy me, especially in bulk.
I would rather just sit in my lazy boy listening to what I want, uninterrupted. I have a great set-up and prefer to listen at home in my old age.
TL;DR āGet off my lawn!ā -ShaneD
Hifiman HE560 v1 into the OG Schiit Lyr with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding all the bits from my laptop.
Currently listening to Minus the Bearās 2017 album, Voids. These guys put out some solid albums. If Interpol are the 21st century version of Joy Division, then Minus the Bear is the 21st century version of what we were all hoping New Order would be. That probably only makes sense to me, but Iāll just say that this is a sick album from an awesome indie band and you should give it a listen.
Jesus, how good is āHow Many More Times?ā I mean, god - what a bop.
Currently running the Campfire Supermoons on the Cayin N8ii for this morningās session.
Iām listening to Riversideās new album, ID.Entity, which just came out on Jan. 20th. Definitely a sick album from one of the best prog outfits goinā. Highly recommended!
Iāve been thinking that the Mars Volta album reminds me of something, something in his voice.
this is what i was thinking of
