Listening to tonight (Part 2)

I have the HE560s (v1 w/ grill mod) plugged into the Schiit Lyr with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding all the bits from my laptop.

At the top of my queue is Anekdoten’s 1993 debut LP, Vemod. This album is a bit rough around the edges, but it has a wonderful mix of proggy post rock with cello and melotron that makes it easy to forgive the less than perfect production. Heck, it kinda even lends some charm to a few tracks!

Wow, I never thought of it before, despite being quite familiar with TVOTR, but you’re right, the vocals do sound quite reminiscent of one another. Good catch!

And both cracking albums, love dog and Dlz calm my soul.

Well, happy Friday! Let’s get into this! Got an interesting album on to start the evening from the lost year of 2020.

It’s almost throwback in nature, just by the way the songs were constructed. Pretty solid, though. I am enjoying it so far. Still having fun with the XS and this crazy hybrid tube! It’s turning out to be a fun pairing.

Current rig: Hifiman HE560v3 into the Schiit Lyr with the Modi Multibit 2 decoding all the bits my laptop/Qobuz send it.

On deck for listening is Lettuce’s 2015 album, Crush. Sometimes you just want to listen to something cool, that has some good grooves, and a laid back vibe. Throw some funk in their, maybe a few jazzy riffs, and have the drummer drive it all with some killer pocket work so you can just kick back and enjoy the ride. That’s what this album is all about. Highly recommended!

John Williams at 90! Some real notables on that stage. So wonderful to see this
brillliant composer/orchestrator honored while he’s still with us!

Doing a fun thing this morning. I am watching this wonderful documentary on Rush called “Time Stands Still”.

Fantastic on the bedroom system. Memories of shows past are flowing through me now! Pretty cool.

This band have a great melodic style. Unfortunately there albums are VERY poorly mastered but this live performance sounds quite good even through YouTube.

Thanks, some interesting changes of chord progression here. Such a well-written song…I love the bridge.
Looking around the room I’d say this is a very interesting young lady!

She should be a star. I think I’ve watched all of her videos and am always impressed by her voice and interpretations.

@Ohmboy Wow, I remember she was popular in my music circle back in the 70’s and 80’s. Very interesting bio on Wikipedia.
