Little Dot MKIII tube amp

Anybody else rocking a Little Dot MKIII tube amp?
I just got it recently and I have to say that I am pretty impressed. I was using it at mid-gain with my Senn HD660’s and it was a very nice experience.
I then jacked it to max gain and hooked up my DT880 (600 Ohm) headphones. With these headphones the volume is 1:00-2:00. And that is with a Schiit Loki in the proving a volume bump. The sound is a little brighter. Not sure if it is better.

Since I had bought an OTL amp I decided that it was time to re-buy the Senn HD6XX’s, shortly after I purchased the amp.
What a GREAT combo! The sound is very full, vocals are great and the bass is strong, but the Loki is kickin’ too.

I was becoming so fond of this I tried to do a reset. I set up a comparison:

  1. MAD Ear+ HDII into a Grado GH2’s.
  2. LD MKIII into an HD6XX’s.

The chain is laptop to BF2 to Schiit Loki to SE switcher to each amp.

The LD is thicker, smoother and bassier, although a little less clarity.

The MAD is more clear, kind of harsh and less bassy.

I like both, but they are very different. As is the price. Using Canuck bucks, the used Senn/LD combo cost me $575.00, landed. The new MAD/Grado combo cost me $1,900.00.

Overall this was a great purchase! I am also curious about the ATH R70X and the T1.2’s now. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
