I find that there’s lots of recordings that classify themselves as “LoFi” use added grain, roomy distorted sounds, attenuation on the kick, and pitch-modulation. It actually adds MORE steps to the production process to achieve these changes which I think is neat. That said these sounds can often still play well to HiFi systems. Like vaporwave, LoFi seems to instill a sense of nostalgia in me and it’s certainly grown on me over time. Infact the intro music on my channel was a LoFi album for a LONG time. What do you guys think about it?
I kinda enjoy this production occasionally, as if done right, it can actually be pretty high fidelity. I mean, I’ll listen to whatever I like regardless of the production quality, but sometimes it is pretty enjoyable to find out how good lo fi production can be
