Im looking suggestion for a TWS adapter for my IEMs (2 pin), mainly for using during running/physical activity
Currently im using the TRN BT20Pro, everything about them is fine except for one major issue… the case the charging pins in the case break, meaning when i put them in one side charges just fine, but the other not only doesnt charge but also stay connected to my phone, and eventually dies because i cant charge it…
This is not a one time thing, has happened 3 times already its a design flaw in how they charge, so far the solution has been to buy more of them since they are so cheap, but this is getting ridiculous , so any other brands im happy to hear
the FIIO TWS adapter is much more expensive , i dont mind spending more but these are like 5 time the price and since this is working out the odds of something happen is fairly high (ive also had a bad experience with a previous model) so its not exactly top of my list.
The KZ adapter only fits certain IEMs since its a recessed 2 pin (with wierd shapes), and i dont like KZ’s tuning
before anyone jumps and says a dongle or a BT DAC/AMP, i have a muse m4 and a BTR7 that im very happy with but for physical activity i rather much go with and TWS adapter
hmm, I myself highly rec the TRN BT20XS and have used one for over a year without issues, the battery life is crazy long its like a nuclear power in it. I have the Fiio UTWS3 and the battery on it sucks and after not using it for a year or so i cant even start it, its ewaste.
Ya ive had battery issues and connectivity issues with the FIIO UTWS3 (hope the 5 might have improved but still not my first pick). i’ll try the XS version, couldnt hurt.
@DaveB ya i thought of the IFI then saw the price tag - yikes…
if it wasnt for sports i might have considered it but the odds damage/loss and i already have a great setup for mobile use when not working out
Aliexpress to the rescue, already found and ordered one
i hope it comes in at a more reasonable price (though i havent seen any news about it)
with the UTWS3 i major connection issues, dropping connection seriousl lag, im holding out for a bit but if if i dont see any other choice/more TRN sets fail ill just bite the bullet
In one of the hifi chats I’m in someone was showing off the product. Little less oomph for power but still retains the swappable ear hooks for connectors and has a way more pocketable case that is zippered instead of the desktop show piece.
Note that the phone (source) of the BT signal is also something to keep in mind as some phones are much better than others with BT signal/strength. One example of this being the Oneplus 8T i had before I switched to the Sony Xperia 5V and the BT was a huge downgrade from it, both in terms of range but most noticeably with strength as it has noticeably more connection issues.
agreed no idea why but the “budget” brands have some major upside in terms of overall connectivity.
I have a Poco F5, overall really happy with it (software could be better but the hardware is solid). The IR blaster is a life saver when you cant find the remote to the AC
