I have a mate who is looking to spend about £150-£200 ($200-$250) on a setup for detail that he can also use whilst running/cycling.
He wants Bluetooth, so I suggested instead of getting a pair of over ear Bluetooth headphones he could get a receiver like the BTR5 and connect a much more detailed set, perhaps something like the Tin P1.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what he could do?
For 100 euros (80ish pounds) I believe that Starfield are the best balanced (and safe soundwise) option. Btr5 goes around 120 euros (100 pounds), that should fit the bill
He’d need something like a FiiO UTWS1 to make that work, I’m not too not sure about the P1’s and exercise tbh as getting and maintaining a good fit can be a bit tricky for some ie me lol…but once he had the UTWS1’s he could use what ever MMCX iem he wanted to.
Only issue here would be how standard IEMs hold up to sweat or possibly rain…oh, and possibly safety, since IEMs tend to be pretty isolating. Obviously he could just wear one, but it might be better to consider something like a decent sports oriented TWS option for running/cycling. Something like the Sony WF-SP700N (which I use for exercise) that has a hear through/ambient mode would add water resistance and safety of hearing your surroundings. They can also be had for $80-$120 depending on sales/stock.
@Davidibiza@Ohmboy@FiCurious thank you very much.
He will also use them for critical listening at home.
He doesn’t really care about an ambient mode he just wants an IEM with detail.
Is the star fields the best way to go?
