I might switch from the Bifrost 2 in the Dac department because they keep getting pushed back for stock and manufacturing issues. I wont ever really EQ so idk if the Ares 2 would suite me and my V280 Amp. What about the ADI-2 DAC FS, is that better or worse than the Bifrost 2, and is it a bad pairing with the V280?
That depends on the sound you want. I returned a ADI2 dac last week because I would never use the features and actually getting it set up correctly was a pain (I know computers and software well, still not straight forward). It’s an incredibly clear dac. I’m not necessarily interested in ultimate clarity so I have a modius until the BF2 actually lands.
These are my opinions and impressions, and my taste is darker sound so take this with some salt

Just wondering, for the music that Photo listens to like Pop, EDM, etc., and you had to go open back, would you go ZMF Open back, Arya, or Focal Clear?
