Do you ever have the problem were after listening to your headphones for a long time, they become what you are used to so you end up starting to want something new and exciting?
I mean I think at times I could use a change of pace, but I don’t think it needs to be something new if you have a few other things to go to. I think most people in this hobby will realize that they are happy with 2-3 headphones that suit their needs (and really can’t be that satisfied with only one headphone), along with 2 amps and possibly 2 dacs in the end, that way they have mostly all their bases covered. People initially start out looking for the one that can do it all, but then figure out that it doesn’t exist, a few more headphones at their disposal is a great way to get what they want
An easy way to fulfill this might be to try out some new music, get more into artists and genre that you haven’t explored before, you can get alot of fun out of that and further appreciate what you have
There is a good chance you will find something you like too, there is so much out there and current day it’s very accessable. I have found some artists I really love by accident or by boredom, my library is always growing with no care paid to genre or anything, the only requirement is that I enjoy it lol
I don’t think there is anything you can throw at the XX’s to make the break, they reproduce everything so well without any distortion. It’s just like a wall of sound always hitting you. And I finally know what planar slam is like, and I love it.
