This is my intention because I am a pretty restless person and like to move around a lot when listening. So far the 58x is great for that though.

Lol yall I need to stop doing first impression reviews. These Elex are freaking amazing. 58x is now ruined for me. They sound boring when you have the Elex.
Also the bass is sooooo goooood. But no mud!
I keep finding myself listening with a big smile on my face. Gonna be interesting to see what can compete with my these that will come in the mail this week.

Ah, so the elex finally gotcha lol
I’ve been listening to my Elex for a few days now, and they get better after each day for some reason. Probably getting used to the sound 
Comparing to my old HE400i, there is so much more sound in the midrange/bass. The HE400i have great detail, close to the same as the Elex, but sound anemic in comparison, the highs are great but everything else is lacking.
Definitely agree that the Elex sounds musical. Although I wish I could try out the 1990, I am quite happy with the Elex.
The Elex is a bit heavy for me, but I think that has to do with squishy pads and less clamp (I like clamp 
), so the top of my head gets a beat down, but I’m sure it’ll get better
So I tried this “harman” eq for the Elex, and I gotta say it really sounds worse with it in my opinion, is it usually better for most people? It makes the highs less full yet more pronounced, and the lows/mids muddy, and the mids in particular less pronounced. Maybe I’d have to listen to it for a bit

yeah the elex has ruined me. I used to love my Aiva’s but recently ive noticed they sound a little wierd. I keep prefering the elex. And look at their frequency graph, i dont think thats easy to pull off. its nearly perfect. what can compete?

Welp all I’ve got the 58x, the m570, the Vokyl Erupts and the Elex now, and can’t seem to reach for anything but the Elex.
Second place would probably go to the m570 for the biggest variety of music (Erupts for rap and such)
Dt1990 and lcd1 still on the way.
Also still kind of want an HD800s

Am update on everything I’ve got:
I do think the m570 is a special headphone. It’s doing something totally different from all the others. I was describing it earlier as the opposite of “aggressive” it’s almost hypnotic in nature. I find that music shifts to the background of my mind/perception when I use them. It’s odd, it’s not what I’m looking for and it’s extremely subjective, but I kind of like it and it makes me want to keep them. They are looking more and more like my secondary right now, especially because I love the way they fit/the pad design.
I also forgot to mention earlier that the 4xx was supposed to come weeks ago. Something may have gone wrong in the mail with that one.
Little bummed out because it was supposedly the one with the best soundstage on rtings out of the ones I got and I wanted to judge their system.
Also I got the Vokyl Erupts and just couldn’t get past the first impression. They have gone neatly back in the box for selling/sending back if at all possible.
I find them too boomy and lacking detail.
That driver is legitimately weird.
Well it has a V shape. ive had a lot of headphones but the Elex and the Aivas are truly great headphones. The Aiva’s are treble kings but not painful, how they pull that off? And they have a little more detail than the Elex. When i put them on the highs surprise me. Ive heard the detail on the Aivas is up there with the HE1000 and the HD800 and various other very high end headphones, for 500$? Fantastic.

I’m thinking of keeping them just because of how different they are and how much more comfortable I find them, although I am trying something new with the Elex which is pretty interesting. I’m wearing them very tight and treating them almost like an on ear for just my ear lobe. So now they fit tight, and the soundstage got bigger. Sounds very lifelike. I actually got the idea from Oluv’s midnight listening session video.
By the way on the topic of the Elex does anybody know where to get better cables for this thing? Preferably ending in 3.5 connection for my Fiio M6?
I bought a Periapt XLR cable for my Elex. I’m sure they could terminate it in 3.5

Any cables would be better!
I replaced mine with grey periapt cables. Type 8 if I recall!
They do XLR, 1/4in and 3.5mm source side terminations.

I spent a lot of time with the DT1990 today as well as the LCD1
I can’t quite put my finger on what’s missing from the LCD1 but I think it might be something in the bass or the mids since what sounds off to me is often drums and snares. HOWEVER, these are very impressive for their size and shape, and honestly look really awesome when worn. Nobody has called these a “fashion” can and I think that’s only because their sound is so good. But they are so light, and look really good.

Whoah boy this was a weird one for me. They are lacking something in the upper mids that gets taken over by the highs. I can’t believe Josh said that they have the same signature as the Elex. They definitely have elevated mids(edit: highs.) Nothing sounds real. Everything sounds somehow filtered through this treble thing. Things sound shiny and fake. Also, I couldn’t seem to get either of the pads back on for the life of me. Had to just line then up by hand for every listen.
With having gotten them for the same price as the Elex… It’s hard because the Elex sound really takes you there, but the 1990 is lighter and more comfortable.
So far the Elex still takes the gold for me. Yet to see if there’s a second place solidified.

the Elex was 700$ the DT1990 is 475$ But yeah the Elex and the Avia’s are the best ive heard so far in this price range. Next step up for me is the Stax L700 or the ZMF Aeolus. which are both past he 1000$ mark. I dont think anything can be found that can beat the Elex and Avias under 1000$ Am i wrong?
Well I would say it would depend on what type of sound you want wether there is something under 1k
I actually paid almost the exact same $650 when it was all said and done for both.
