Looking for other pair of Headphones

I am begging for assistance, as I am wanting to add a pair of headphones to my collection of two.

I have Sony MDR7506 I bought a couple of years ago and Sennheiser HD25 which I bought earlier this year.

I find the MDR7506 to be crisp with good bass when needed. The HD25 definitely has more punch and bass for music like rap. I like both of them a lot, but I lean towards MDR7506 if I had to pick.

I am looking for another closed back headphone because I do like the isolation and I do not want the sound to bleed like it does with open. I believe I am wanting something that would be considered a step up or two or three from the MDR7506.

I listen to mainly music (alternative, rap, singer/songwriter, instrumental, rock) with my current headphones. No gaming.

I was thinking about Argon Mk3, but they are sold out and I am just not sure if they would be the right way to go anyway.

I would like to stay in the $200 or less range, but will go up a bit if it is worth it.

A dt 770 250 ohm might not be a bad option if you have the power to drive them. excellent seal, Crisp sound , great bass when needed

Thanks for the feedback!

I am not using an amp at this time. So my question - would you still get a pair of DT 770 and if so at what ohm (32 or 80)?

you may want to consider buying an entry amp first. you would be surprised how much it can change your current headphones to sound better.

that being said, meze 99 neo are a good option for closed back under 200$ that do not need an amp.

OK, Thanks!
What entry amp would you recommend?

seeing as you can stretch the budget out a bit if a bit means like another $60 a magni 3+fits the budget as well as the monoprice liquid spark for $70 which is the forum’s favorite for powering 250 ohm to 600 ohm beyers on the budget

Just one question, if you don’t have an amplifier and have a budget of $ 200, could you possibly live with in-ear headphones?

Because in this price range, these are tonally far superior to any over ear headphones.

And there are quite a few recommendations for IEMs that are very satisfactory.

thats quite a claim but the variety of choices in this price range is domething to consider if you dont mind IEMS

What IEMs would you recommend?

It depends on how many bass you need?

Forgive me Because I am learning - I would still need a DAC with the amp right? Would a DAC/amp make that much of a difference with the Headphones I already have?

Someone recommended this to me.

“Modi (https://www.schiit.com/products/modi-1) + Magni (https://www.schiit.com/products/magni-1) + solid pair of over ears (https://en-ca.sennheiser.com/studio-headphones-noise-reducing-hd-200-pro)”… I am not sure about those Headphones.

if your current source sounds clean to you you can just use that as a DAC just fine

used senn closed back at a good price. if you get these, gives you plenty of room for an amp.

used marketplace is right up your alley at a 200$ budget.

Where is LS $70?
