Gotcha, well then, I think the sundara would most likely serve you well for an all rounder without spending more than you should, as it’s already really pushing it for sure. If you wanted to lean more towards gaming I would say the 880 600 ohm. I think amp and dac wise you have that figured out albeit a bit expensive for this budget.
What you could do is grab the sundara, then also grab the scarlett solo + a schiit magni 3+, and that way you could squeeze everything in nicely I think. The magni 3+ isn’t as high preforming as the asgard, but that being said I think it’s actually more bang for the buck and will drive the sundaras without concern
So if want to spend more and have better quality. Sundaras, Asgard 3, E30, Modmic?
& to spend less and get a better microphone
Sundaras, Scarlett Solo, Magni 3+ XLR Mic?
What about Sennheiser HD600s? Or the massdrop HD6XX I’m sorry if I’m asking alot of questions I just want to find what’s right for me because I dont really spend money like this and I’m completely new to the audiophile realm
So just doing the math real quick, I actually think if you wanted to maximize your budget for preformance and features, the asgard 3 with the scarlett solo, with the xlr mic and sundaras would be my pick.
The 600 is a bit better for comp gaming than the 650, but neither are really ideal, and I still think they don’t work well for the type of music you listen to. The 6xx is functionally the same as the 650, so what I said about the 650 would carry over to this imo.
No problem, there are a whole ton of options and it’s really hard to navigate as a beginner, no worries. Personally I do think this is spending a whole lot on a first setup for sure and you would be jumping a few tiers up, but that is up to you if you are willing to spend that much
I just like to own the best things I can with what I got available and I love music and gaming
If I were to rate what I would look for it would be
Music:10/10
Gaming:09/10
Microphone:08/10
Like I might stream but I probably wont so I dont think I would need like a Studio quality microphone
The only reason I’m hesitant to get a XLR microphone is because I most likely wont stream it’s like a possibility 60% chance I might. That’s why I wouldnt mind just using $50 modmic
This was the case with their older products, but the sundara has been pretty reliable from what I hear and my experiences, also their customer service is pretty good
So would you recommend anything with a Modmic instead of an XLR microphone? That would make it 10/10 for music? Like a microphone doesnt really matter all that much to me if I ever do get in the mood to stream I’d like to have that option but for now an XLR wouldnt be on the top of my bucket list, primarily spatial sound for gaming like I want something that’s crisp, and some good bass for music, I’ve been trying to get insight from other people as well and they’ve recommend me the HD sennheiser 600 if I want something for gaming primarily. But I want my main thing to be music and then gaming like imo $600 is alot but then again I dont know anything about audio at all that’s why I’m asking alot of questions and just trying to find the right option for me, I’m just tired of this shitty wireless gaming headset lol.
I prefer a boom mic for gaming for comfort. The extra cable pulling on your neck can be annoying as well as a mic hanging off the headphones. Even if you are not streaming it may be a nicer option if you can swing it.
I was thinking of the sundaras, with the asgard 3, with the e30, an the XLR if it’s possible. At this point I would push my damn budget to $700 to save myself the headache of choosing between a XLR and a Modmic I’d rather just have the entire setup ready.
That’s just a bit confusing to me imo, the 600 doesn’t do well in recreating space in games, is fairly narrow, and has not much bass punch and has some bass roll off, really not something I would want for gaming. And also not really ideal for music you listen to imo. It mainly excels for vocals and organic instruments like strings or horns. Also it really shines on a tube amp, but really for this situation imo it’s a mismatch
I posted what I think is my final audio setup, definitely stretching my budget by alot but I hope it’s good enough. I hope I have the right cables and everything and well.
Umm I’m not sure I thought that’s what the E30 was for lol am I missing something or? Like I’m just trying to purchase the right stuff and so far it’s close to $770 my wife is probably going to kill me if I spend more help me make a shopping list lol
You would replace the e30 with a scarlett or buy both lol. The e30 is only a dac with no xlr mic support. So in this case, swapping the e30 for a scarlett would make the most sense here. You really won’t be giving much up imo
So if I get the scarlett solo I’ll be fine?
Man this is almost $770 I dont know if the wife will sign off on that lol, can I just get the sundaras by themselves and be fine? Or do I really need an amp and a DAC? Like is there maybe a cheaper alternative to the sundaras? I would really like to stay at like $600 max and possibly a Modmic instead of an XLR tbh…
My wife is not gonna sign off on $770 lol
