Looking to get my first audio setup

The bass wasnt an issue for me, but I use Final Audio Silicone Tips, so bass was less prominent.

The topping can work without installing extra drivers if you want, and the d10 is somewhat painless if you install the drivers correctly

I had a bad unit when I purchased a D10, but I got a replacement and unfortunately had some usb noise with it. I used it as a USB to Coaxial converter for my speaker AV receiver setup and it works like a charm. At the bare minimum, it’s extremely useful just cause of it’s SPDIF conversion abilities.

Wow this topic blew up somehow lol.

The Tin T2 measure likes such:

By that I mean they measure pretty bad… especially in the bass and the high treble

The mids are really warm and might sound muddy to you depending on what you like

Hmm so no bass and murder treble by the looks of it.

Definitely NOT. The treble is strong but not murderous, that’s possibly the pro. The bass is actually OK

Accurately measuring iems is pretty difficult tbh. It’s somewhat bass light but it still has enough kick imo, and the treble is not really that bad as it looks

Also I found some things that I like and dislike about the sound of headphones based on the headphones that I have:

  • I don’t like warm bass/mids
  • I don’t like recessed mids
  • I don’t like harsh piercing treble like really really don’t like
  • I don’t like recessed bass/ not well extending bass
  • I don’t like cold mids
  • I don’t like 2k peaks
  • I don’t like 11-14k peaks

Now for what I like:

  • I do like a well extending bass and subbass
  • I do like natural mids.
  • I don’t think I’d mind exciting headphones
  • I don’t think I’d mind mid-forward headphones
  • I don’t think I’d mind bass boosted headphones

I’ve been hurt by treble so much that I don’t know what good things to say about it :pensive: :sob:

I’m in the same boat as you, but my sensitivity falls in the 1 to 3 khz area and the 7 to 8 khz area. Boosted but even I can deal with, but peaks that are high sloped and uneven are deal breakers. M0N is right though, measuring IEMs is difficult.

Example are the Oriolus Forsteni. If you go by the graph, they look like my nightmare come to life…but I actually didn’t mind these.

eeeh I could use those I don’t mind 7k peaks I don’t really mind any peak before 10k, actually I don’t like 2k peaks as well those are agony.

I was surprised at how little these sounded like the graph. Graphs normally can be helpful tools, but this was the one occasion I was dumbfounded. They sounded too smooth to have those peaks.

well ye 7k peaks are not sharp or piercing, they are rather exciting

The Campfire Audio IO have an awful peak from 1 to 2 khz. It’s the only Campfire IEM that sounded awful to me.

The Lyra II and Polaris V2 I actually liked more than the Andromeda, which is blasphemous to say, but true to my ears.

I don’t do IEM’s cuz It physically hurts me to insert them in my ears… well not actually it’s just too gross for me.

I’m picky AF about IEMs and I only use silicone tips so I can clean them without damage, so I understand.

Have you tried symbio tips before?

I just got some the other day and I like them, but they dont sound good on my ikko oh1. I’m hoping to try them on my campfire polaris V2 which I ordered last night.
