Looking to get my first audio setup

Yeah of course see if the stock cable works for you (it should) before buying anything else

Why do you think you would need such a long length?

Also just checking do you have rca cables lying around to connect the amp and dac together?

Dude just buy AirPods lololololol, imagine having cables attached to your headphones :joy:

I always see in Z’s reviews that he loves his aftermarket cables. but I assume he already has a lot of them lying around and probably spent a lot more than I am probably willing to, at least right now.

As far as rca cables I think so…but I’m currently cat-ralyzed (my cat is sleeping on my lap so I can’t get up to check :stuck_out_tongue:)

pet the cat and boop her nose :cat:

No problem lol, you have more important matters before you can get up lol. Aftermarket cables are pretty much a preference thing

I just did, she doesn’t care.

@M0N I kinda figured that’d be the case but sometimes manufacturers cut corners in the strangest ways to manage cost…

Yes, focal cables are pretty bad imo, same with some of the older hifiman rubber tube type cables, but they’ve gotten better now

Dude have you seen the cable for the Hifiman Edition XX, its the best !!! :joy: :ok_hand:

I think it’s been changed now thank god, some of the 6se came with that awful cable

If you are treble sensitive, beware of the Hifiman. That’s all I will say. Hope they work out for you.

That’s the first I’ve heard of the 4xx having a lot of treble…how do they compare to say…dt880? Early in the discussion I heard that 880s have a lot of treble

They both have a lot of treble. But beyers are like the king of high treble. Either way, at times I can be sensitive to treble if it is uneven. I tried the hifiman and sold them a day later. Your mileage may vary of course.

Good to note. Thanks

No problem. I’m extra picky with headphones, so my opinions on treble are very different from most.

Well I fully plan on posting my experience so I’ll let you know how it goes

Right on. Look forward to it.

Lmao nice. Like I said the book was pretty good for what it is. This thread has kinda evolved into a wierd off-topic beast I never intended… pretty cool experience overall. It has really endeared me to this community

So this is awkward…you may or may not be surprised to know that I do NOT in fact have a set of rca cables to connect the amp and dac. Good news is I have time before any of my headsets arrive from drop. Are any old rca cables good for this application? Is there a recommended maximum/minimum length? I think the d10 is a USB connection to the PC. Anyone know how long the stock cable is?

anything will work if you are brave enough. but these are very nice for the price https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A7SGDOG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
