Looking to upgrade from Koss stuff for music

Yeah i know its a good headphone. I just hate that veil. i love clarity in a headphone. And ive compared the 58x to the noirs and i feel the noirs are a better headphone. the bass sounds alright to me. especially with the bigger pads.

So you enjoy the 600 correct?

It can often sound bailed to those that like brighter cans but imo for the price it’s not veiled at all and presents a decent amount of detail punching up a bit. Just hard to notice cause they are so smooth

I just got them and ive been listening to them. I they sound ok so far but this sometimes happen wear i’ll like something at first and think its great. like the he4xx. then on further listening i’ll find theres something about it i hate.

They have a similar “veil” to the 58x, except the 58x is better extended in the bass. It just has a warmer signature compared to the 600

The 58x does sound more veiled to me. maybe its that extension?

I love that veil :raised_hands:

It’s more likely that the 600 has more detail with a bit less dip in the 2-5k range, but really they are somewhat similar in signature, but the 600 is an improvement in technicality and presentation. Typically veil is used to describe a lack of frequency extension or muffled sound which personally I don’t really find the 58x and 600 to be different in that regard off of a solid state

Personally I’d take the 58x over the Meze’s.
The Meze 99’s are a very colored headphone, not necessarily a bad 2nd or 3rd headphone, but it’s not for everyone.

Colored how? It sounds very balanced to me, with added bass, and a wide soundstage. clear. very nice. i like it better than the sennheisers

True, veil doesnt properly describe it. i should say it has recessed treble, right?

Does Drop still have that $20 off sale for brand new customers? That may help the OP with a decision on 58x or 6xx with that extra amount off.

Yes, I got it when I signed up, you just have to activate it. I couldn’t use mine since I got something that was less than 50.

very big bloated bass almost consumer tuning with sharp treble to the very sensitive people

Do you have one? You need to try the bigger pads. Bass is fine and treble is fine. all sounds good to me

Yeah, there’s a reason these get called ‘audiophile Beats’ so much lol.

nope but Im want one because I like how it sounds stock . its the kind of sound Im looking for for my next headphone

If you like them that’s great, nothing wrong with that. Just know they aren’t very accurate or detailed compared to other similar headphones. But again, the most important aspect of this hobby is having fun, and if you have fun with them, great!

Oh god. its sounds terrible stock. i dont remember what pads came with it but do yourself a favor and use the bigger deeper firmer pads with it. the smaller pads makes it sound like theres something wrong with it.

Check any review of it on the web. everyone loves it. I just did a review of 5 headphones under 200$ and it won. sounded better than all of them.

i found them very detailed
