THIS VUDU 1-10x28 in FFP is EoTech’s tops dog. It comes with their standard sweet of controls and features. Unlike many LPVO’s, the Vudu series features 3 button illumination control. And an integrated rear eye piece thats part of the magnification ring. What that means is that as you adjust the magnification, the eye piece will rotate along with it. If your familiar with how the Night Force ATACR’s operate, this is the same. What that means is that you cant just throw on a regular old flip cap on the back. It would need to be one that rotates like Tenebrex, or folds completely flat like Vortex Defenders. The push button illumination is also a little unorthodox. But it works well in practice.
Despite how most FFP 1-10’s arent really ‘perfect’. This one is a fairly solid performer all things considered. Its biggest let down is its lower/middle magnification (2-6x). The image becomes unstable and the eyebox becomes tight. At either extreme it performs very well. And the SR-5 reticle is very solid above 5x for precision shooting. If you are at 1x, the reticle is simple and easy to pick up. A lot of people would ask me which I would choose between this and a G3 Razor. Given that the Razor is $500 more, and frankly has a worse reticle (IMHO). It steers me away from that if I had to choose a victor between those two.
