The Run Down:

  • $2900
  • 21oz.
  • They show a lot of scope body when your behind it.
  • The DMx reticle is great above 4x. Below that really requires illumination for max performance.
  • Very solid feel & Construction

This Night Force ATACR 1-8x24 is a premium, American “made” (Produced by LOW in Japan), FFP LPVO. They have been used by military agencies across the glode. And are known for their durability and overall build quality. This example that I reviewed did have a slight issue with the illumination control. It would only shut off when turned clockwise. If you spun it counter-clockwise it would stay on. Night Force very quickly repaired the issue and got the scope back to me in less than 2 weeks. They also gave the scope a complete checkup to ensure nothing else was wrong.

Overall this is a really awesome scope. And I would not be upset to own one, nor use one. If you are looking for a similar experience for less money, I would strongly consider the Primary Arms PLxC RDB 1-8x24. At around $1,000 cheaper, it still gives tremendous optical performance in a much smaller and lighter pacakge. Whats not to love?
