I am not 100% sure if this fits this category if not please delete. I am looking for a driverless usb dac to convert to spdif. I thought it was a joke at first but now, I have several dacs. One for single ended and one for balanced. I am looking to run everything through spdif since all these cluster of wires won’t have a chance to fuck the sound up.
I wanted something that is supported for mac os and preferably driverless for mac os.

It works with PC and my Mac Mini. Also, it works my iPhone and iPad with a USB camera adapter.
I suggest you try USB first before you spend money.
I don’t know if it will be different on the new MM, but on my Late 2014, I have to set the playback bitrate to the highest, even if the audio I’m playing is much lower. if I didn’t, my music was full of artifacts. weirdest thing!
