I mean I don’t really like the idea of badges as it makes people feel less valid or something compared to people who have badges. I would rather just keep it the way it is tbh. I don’t want to set a precedent that if you have whatever badge you are more accepted or should be seen as over others. It doesn’t really matter in the end

I feel like it should be common sense, but whatevs lol. Also not a fan of the “summarize this topic” button as all it does is essentially take the most liked posts of the thread and hides less liked opinions. You shouldn’t really have that on a forum like this imo as you should really read the thread as a whole to get a good idea

Here here! M0N, the great audio sage, knows how to keep a forum casual and chill without the modern forum frivolities that would alienate us all! We are in safe hands, I have no doubts. Never will we have to worry about titles or badges or other such nonsense. (but if we do have badges could I have like a cute raccoon face badge or something like that next to my name. kthx.)
I mean if everyone could choose whatever title or picture badge after they became a member (using the discourse trust level) I feel like there wouldn’t be a problem. That would essentially let most people be able to choose a cool badge or something

Badge or not i really like the platform for this site. Seems like the best forum possible, some badges would be cute tho i guess
Never mind lol, its just basically saying an active user. So someone who visits the site enough and posts would be a member

sorry lol. I barely found out what discord and reddit are this year. And that sounds good! Just like on activity, i like the sound of that
I like the way linus does it with their forum in the trust level sense of things but I feel badges and more stuff just adds clutter
It’s nowhere near as fast and simple as this, I don’t want this to change lol. I don’t want that to change that for sure. This is for more causal discussion imo and should be easy and inviting for new users, as the goal is to get people on to share their option and easily get help or info if they need it

My honest opinion on this would be:
- This website’s design is perfect minimalism and doesn’t really highlight anyone over anyone else with nonsense stats or such stuff in posts. It doesn’t really need anything more than it already has.
- If badges were kept small (like your shield), user choosable, and limited (like you could only choose 1), then it’d be cute and I’d be fine with it.
- Fuck titles though. I hate them and find them distracting. People often pick or are given obnoxious ones.

and you can really go deep with perople on this forum by cheaking out their profile. seeing what they are into.
titels are alright as long as it’s confined to your persoinal profile and not a thread itself. I want to keep the thread minimalbut more personalization on your respective page wouldnt be bad. but I would honestly prefer more focus on other parts of the site
