xasix said many people complained about the Xenns Up. I was making the point that out of all the people that purchased a Xenns Up, I was the only one who had a bad unit.
I was more upset at how Linsoul treated me than anything.
No one should expect every manufacturer to be perfect, and Linsoul/Xenns/Mangird screwed up in this instance, but they did correct the situation and now I have a perfect unit. I was very upset early on because I did not know if they were going to make it right or not.
Yes I was aware you were upset as you did not know what was happening. Just wondering if he was taken care of like he should have been and is unhappy or is he a troll I think the tough thing about iems as you do not really know what something sound like till you actually purchase.
Stop commenting on me!!! Iām not a troll. I express my opinion. Maybe youāre unhappy. And for Mangird Tea - I like them, I like them very much and I sent them to replace Linsoul !!!
I just wanted to make a little thank you to someone who helped me with the purchase of these. Thank you for kinda making me pull the trigger on these. I just received the Teas yesterday and they are amazing. Iām still new to the hobby but have loved music since a very young age and I must say that putting these in and playing some tracks I have come to love an know I became very emotional with just how the overall sound was. I just want to sit down an listen to my hole library. I play one song and im like oh what about this song or this one just blows me away here are some pics I took today.
As a do what I told you, not what I did, stop here and just enjoy teas will suck you into the rabbit hole and youāll guess what more is there, and then youāll realize you want a 500usd+ tribid
@nymz I canāt thank you enough! I really canāt like I donāt want to put them down. There truly mind blowing in a way that makes since. If you want your music to litterally come alive listen just listen to these and honestly Iām not sure if anyone could not like these. I have ventured far into my library from country to rock to metal to heavy metal back to edm electrical music to opera to the bliss of live music I must say it all feels lively. If anyone is wanting a good iem Iād give this 11 out of 10 rec for sure. Iām scared to hear anything else but thank you for the guidance in this awesome community! I also might say it I think I actually might like iems better then headphones
Just randomly found myself checking out this thread and had to stop scrolling when I saw my stuff mentioned. Literally the first time Iāve read a mention of my stuff, outside of conversations Iāve been part of.
Cool feeling. Appreciate the reference
Iām looking forward to the Tea so much, but Dropās been taking forever to ship to me. Itāll be great to share my take though once I get them in!
I was strongly considering the Aria at first with everyoneās reviews about them, but especially after listening to the sound demos comparing the Aria to some very much higher end IEMs, even after taking all the considerations of youtube compression, mic/fit variance with your set up, my own earphones etc. I was just blown away by the comparisons between the Aria, UP, and MEST. It was like night and day. I remember reading a comment that the difference between the Aria and the higher end IEMs sounding like the difference similar to listening to a band behind a curtain to listening right up close to the open stage.
I was a bit skeptical at first when people spoke of technicalities, but after listening to those demos it definitely had a big impact on my perspective and prospects on what to eventually buy(strongly thinking of the Tea but if I can get away with it, perhaps the Clairvoyance or Monarch)
Nice! I definitely canāt wait to catch that, especially since itāll probably be a while before I can try and demo the Tea until the shop gets a new shipment of units in.
I just cancelled my order from Drop and placed a new order with Linsoul. Enough waiting for Drop to deliver!
Itāll be great to finally get a video out already for the Tea. Iāll compare it to everything I like at $300 and below, and even against the MEST and other high tier stuff. Demos of all the compared IEMās included.
Maybeā¦a month from now, given delivery times and recording/production of the video.
Yeah, I only look at drop for their exclusive items. I got Teas some months ago from aliexpress, 10 days deliver, paid around 230ā¬ no taxes. Oh the good old timesā¦
Looking forward to your opinions Keep in mind the stock cable might suck, as some are out of phase like mine, and also to tips since Teas seem to be sensible to this.
Still wish I could work out what I didnāt like about the Teas. They just didnāt āspark joyā or sound ārightā. Iād start to say they sounded unnatural but thats edging into āyou need to be able to back that upā territory.
Not sure if youāre saying the Teas offer this, or donāt offer this?
I remember the following:
Snares had poor/wrong texture. I really care about percussion and this bugged me.
Everything was 3D, but to a gimmicky extent where parts of a single artistās guitar would be spread around you instead of hitting from one point
I think the āunnaturalā aspect was how nothing would ever come to the foreground everything was even, but too even - as someone who loves balanced sets, I was puzzled if a vocalist etc who should clearly sound more prominent, didnāt. This plus the last point made it great for soundtracks at least. But for most songs it was eerie and left me unmoved even if technicalities were impressive. Felt very much like āIām listening to recorded musicā all the time, couldnāt get lost in emotions or music itself.
EDIT: Iām relating my experiences, not arguing with anyone who loved it. Itās very capable, something just didnāt mesh with my tastes/perceptions/ possibly ear canal structure for all we know, so many factors to this hobby.
Every tuning comes with preferences. Whether itās these or the Oxygens (another set I didnāt struggle to part with, even though I respected them) I find the claim āthese could be anyoneās endgameā a little obnoxious given different tastes and respsonses. 80%+ of peopleās end game? Sure. They certainly seem to hit a sweet spot with many. Thereās not a single IEM that could be anyoneās endgame however. Every recommendation has to take preferences into account.
EDIT2: Also, if youāre browsing the thread this is not advice for anyone to avoid them. Iām a rare case and even I found them to be good overall.
At the time of writing my favorite IEM, which Iām using now and plan to settle on, is the YanYin Aladdin, similarly priced, cheaper in fact. So itās not like I felt I had to keep climbing a money ladder to find something ābetterā to endgame, my ears just needed something different to what the Teas offer. In other words if it suits your tastes, of course you can endgame on the Teas, the quality is there, but itās not objective that everyone can.
