šŸ”¶ Mangird TEA (6 BA/1DD)

xasix said many people complained about the Xenns Up. I was making the point that out of all the people that purchased a Xenns Up, I was the only one who had a bad unit.

I was more upset at how Linsoul treated me than anything.

No one should expect every manufacturer to be perfect, and Linsoul/Xenns/Mangird screwed up in this instance, but they did correct the situation and now I have a perfect unit. I was very upset early on because I did not know if they were going to make it right or not.

Make sense?

Yes I was aware you were upset as you did not know what was happening. Just wondering if he was taken care of like he should have been and is unhappy or is he a troll I think the tough thing about iems as you do not really know what something sound like till you actually purchase.

Stop commenting on me!!! Iā€™m not a troll. I express my opinion. Maybe youā€™re unhappy. And for Mangird Tea - I like them, I like them very much and I sent them to replace Linsoul !!!

I just wanted to make a little thank you to someone who helped me with the purchase of these. Thank you for kinda making me pull the trigger on these. I just received the Teas yesterday and they are amazing. Iā€™m still new to the hobby but have loved music since a very young age and I must say that putting these in and playing some tracks I have come to love an know I became very emotional with just how the overall sound was. I just want to sit down an listen to my hole library. I play one song and im like oh what about this song or this one just blows me away here are some pics I took today.

@nymz I canā€™t thank you enough! I really canā€™t like I donā€™t want to put them down. There truly mind blowing in a way that makes since. If you want your music to litterally come alive listen just listen to these and honestly Iā€™m not sure if anyone could not like these. I have ventured far into my library from country to rock to metal to heavy metal back to edm electrical music to opera to the bliss of live music I must say it all feels lively. If anyone is wanting a good iem Iā€™d give this 11 out of 10 rec for sure. Iā€™m scared to hear anything else but thank you for the guidance in this awesome community! I also might say it I think I actually might like iems better then headphones :love_you_gesture:

Now wait for cable and tips. Next you realize, youā€™re dancing around.

You donā€™t have to thank me  you can thank @hawaiibadboy, he showed it to the world

Just randomly found myself checking out this thread and had to stop scrolling when I saw my stuff mentioned. Literally the first time Iā€™ve read a mention of my stuff, outside of conversations Iā€™ve been part of.

Cool feeling. Appreciate the reference

Iā€™m looking forward to the Tea so much, but Dropā€™s been taking forever to ship to me. Itā€™ll be great to share my take though once I get them in!

I was strongly considering the Aria at first with everyoneā€™s reviews about them, but especially after listening to the sound demos comparing the Aria to some very much higher end IEMs, even after taking all the considerations of youtube compression, mic/fit variance with your set up, my own earphones etc. I was just blown away by the comparisons between the Aria, UP, and MEST. It was like night and day. I remember reading a comment that the difference between the Aria and the higher end IEMs sounding like the difference similar to listening to a band behind a curtain to listening right up close to the open stage.

I was a bit skeptical at first when people spoke of technicalities, but after listening to those demos it definitely had a big impact on my perspective and prospects on what to eventually buy(strongly thinking of the Tea but if I can get away with it, perhaps the Clairvoyance or Monarch)

Nice! I definitely canā€™t wait to catch that, especially since itā€™ll probably be a while before I can try and demo the Tea until the shop gets a new shipment of units in.

I just cancelled my order from Drop and placed a new order with Linsoul. Enough waiting for Drop to deliver!

Itā€™ll be great to finally get a video out already for the Tea. Iā€™ll compare it to everything I like at $300 and below, and even against the MEST and other high tier stuff. Demos of all the compared IEMā€™s included.

Maybeā€¦a month from now, given delivery times and recording/production of the video.

Looking forward to it!!

Yeah, I only look at drop for their exclusive items. I got Teas some months ago from aliexpress, 10 days deliver, paid around 230ā‚¬ no taxes. Oh the good old timesā€¦

Looking forward to your opinions  Keep in mind the stock cable might suck, as some are out of phase like mine, and also to tips since Teas seem to be sensible to this.

Still wish I could work out what I didnā€™t like about the Teas. They just didnā€™t ā€œspark joyā€ or sound ā€œrightā€. Iā€™d start to say they sounded unnatural but thats edging into ā€œyou need to be able to back that upā€ territory.

Maybe just more smooth and relaxing than having a little kick on bass and fun?

Canā€™t wait! All things considered on the timing of when the last batch to the shop arrived itā€™ll be right on time when your video comes out haha

Not sure if youā€™re saying the Teas offer this, or donā€™t offer this?

I remember the following:

  • Snares had poor/wrong texture. I really care about percussion and this bugged me.

  • Everything was 3D, but to a gimmicky extent where parts of a single artistā€™s guitar would be spread around you instead of hitting from one point

  • I think the ā€œunnaturalā€ aspect was how nothing would ever come to the foreground everything was even, but too even - as someone who loves balanced sets, I was puzzled if a vocalist etc who should clearly sound more prominent, didnā€™t. This plus the last point made it great for soundtracks at least. But for most songs it was eerie and left me unmoved even if technicalities were impressive. Felt very much like ā€œIā€™m listening to recorded musicā€ all the time, couldnā€™t get lost in emotions or music itself.

EDIT: Iā€™m relating my experiences, not arguing with anyone who loved it. Itā€™s very capable, something just didnā€™t mesh with my tastes/perceptions/ possibly ear canal structure for all we know, so many factors to this hobby.

Every tuning comes with preferences. Whether itā€™s these or the Oxygens (another set I didnā€™t struggle to part with, even though I respected them) I find the claim ā€œthese could be anyoneā€™s endgameā€ a little obnoxious given different tastes and respsonses. 80%+ of peopleā€™s end game? Sure. They certainly seem to hit a sweet spot with many. Thereā€™s not a single IEM that could be anyoneā€™s endgame however. Every recommendation has to take preferences into account.

EDIT2: Also, if youā€™re browsing the thread this is not advice for anyone to avoid them. Iā€™m a rare case and even I found them to be good overall.

At the time of writing my favorite IEM, which Iā€™m using now and plan to settle on, is the YanYin Aladdin, similarly priced, cheaper in fact. So itā€™s not like I felt I had to keep climbing a money ladder to find something ā€œbetterā€ to endgame, my ears just needed something different to what the Teas offer. In other words if it suits your tastes, of course you can endgame on the Teas, the quality is there, but itā€™s not objective that everyone can.

I also really like Tea, but they are tonally confused

ROFL, Just one of the reasons I love them. They have one of the largest and most spacious stages in the game. Fantastic imaging as well.
