Just jumped on the bandwagon

Tier #1 endgame baby. Nothing wrong with any of the tiers being anyone’s endgame either. Just different prices and we all know, money does not always = better sound quality.

So
the quality is bad, not technical, they sound calm, compatible with few genres, and are tonally confused.

Other than a generic “I really like them”
do tell, what specifically do you like about them? wink wink

I like the soundstage, the tireless highs, the subbass, the comfort! The mid frequencies are good, but because of the tonality they are not suitable for metal! They are compatible with a few genres!

So good highs, good sub bass and good mids. Good soundstage. The bass is very fast. It has gkod coherency for an hibrid.

Yeah, I see the problem here :smirk:

I just had the realization that I never asked this question on this thread before, but better now than when I already pulled the trigger on the Tea and finding out too late.

So I know that the Tea is pretty much a good “all rounder” especially for its price point but how does it do with very busy tracks like metal? I put my music preference in my first thread which is primarily things like Powerwolf, Sabaton, etc. Along with a big smattering of various genres but in general the majority fall into the rock and metal spectrum.

Sorry bro, i listen to anything but metal and rap, that’s @Resolution departament.

I’m a techo head in denial

For metal, I prefer sets with a heavier hitting/faster DD like the Fiio FH3/FH7, DUNU Zen, MEST MKII.

I would not recommend the Tea if it were only good at one genre. It’s overall the best IEM around $300.

but I I listen to metal less and less. I like progressive metal and power metal like Dream Theater and Evergrey. I don’t tread too far away from those genres. I don’t like the extreme metal genres or growling/screaming vocals other than Opeth. That’s about as crazy as I get.

So for genres past those, you’re on your own.

My library is pretty much stuff like progressive, power, epic, symphonic metal. Not a big fan of super screaming or growling like black or death metal myself. I guess a more accurate description would be in the progressive rock and metal spectrum, I think my most scream/growl bits of my library would be Disturbed’s Indestructible and Ten Thousand Fists. Though granted I also have a lot of Lynyrd Skynyrd, OSTs, Linkin Park, some acoustic stuff and so on.

Out of curiosity, how would the Thieaudio Oracle fare?Totally not because I have my eyes on them ever since the Tea’s I was supposed to demo never arrived and now waiting on and now considering taking a look at something with better technicalities(hopefully?)

Ahahah, you’re down the hole. I’d advise you to try teas first.

Oracle is great for thrash/Prog, IMO; can’t compare the Tea as I no longer have them.

Direct reply in case you didn’t see my other reply on this thread because genuinely wanna know

How does the Oracle stack up in those genres? Looking at BGGR graphs the Oracle and Tea are pretty close in the sub bass to mids with the Oracle having more upper mids and treble than the Tea

@NarrowProgram The Teas deal with metal just fine, you’ll have no problem with your library. Here’s a selection of stuff from my library where the Teas sound great - Soundgarden - Spoonman, Rush - The Trees, Korn - Freak on a Leash, Lorde - Royals, Tool - Stinkfist, Megadeth - Psychotron, AC/DC - Rejection, Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion, AIC - Dirt, Black Label Society - Suffering Overdue, Clutch - (Notes from the Trial of) La Curandera, Hole - Use Once & Destroy, Iron Maiden - Wasted Years, Metallica - Sad But True, Linkin Park - Papercut, Mudvayne - Dig, RATM - Bombtrack.

They are also able to handle faster stuff (when I found the right tips) like Slipknot, Machine Head, Exodus, Slayer no problem - the DD is more than fast enough to keep up.

Having said all that as @Resolution said above, I also bought a set of FH3s for the times when I want a bit more weight and slam - they are particularly tasty with Slipknot.

I would 100% recommend the Teas though.

Mangird are very calm and smooth to be good with metal. For less dynamic compositions it works well, but for progressive metal with more dynamics they don’t work at all! They have weak transients and wrong tonality !!!

Teas will work with 90% of the libraries, period.

:santa:

50% maximum!!!

Name a better set up to 400/500 usd.

And I mean better, not different, so dont come out with B2, dusk or oxygen stuff.

You’re wrong!! :joy: :joy:

what’s your favourite iem?

No! I am a realist!
