Can Final E also do the job well? I will tip roll after getting it!

They will work fine, but i’d advise against it. Tea has bass and its treble is pretty dark already, which is Final E’s job.

will NOT seal for me what so ever. I do not rec them.c

I think it’s a general consensus that most people prefer the Final E tips vs most all other tips. I think they’re pretty good. Although, Spinfits are by far my favorite tips.

The thing with tips I wish was stated more often, that tips are very personal and I don’t think any 1 tip style should be recommended. I think there are a few tip types/brands that are preferred by most enthusiasts and anyone serious about the hobby should collect as many as possible and make a determination for themselves as to what works best for them.

There’s also sound quality synergies that can be at play with IEMs and tips but generally I think tip comfort and proper seal are the most important aspects even beyond sound quality. If you don’t have a good seal, nothing else matters.

I’ve been thinking about writing an article for IEM beginners with suggestions about tips and explaining how to attain a proper seal etc
There’s a lot of stuff that we could explain and direct anyone to when they are new to the hobby to help get them up to speed quickly.

Sure, let me know if you need help. Im lucky to have a seal with 90% of the tips.

Well, let’s agree to disagree. Tips are the most important thing in a chain after the iems themselves for a reason. Spinfits have great seal and confort, but they come with a price.

I agree with this statement, for me the sound i just slightly “off” with Spinfits, less coherent maybe. Its hard to describe but Final E sound just right, while the Spinfits won’t, it is not a super big difference but it is there. Not sure if this is what you mean though, that is how it sounds to me.

I some times go back to Spinfits and i always like the comfort and easy seal when i do, but then the sound difference makes me go back to Final Es and when i do there is always a “oh ok, now it sounds right” moment.

Yap, exactly. Spinfit are the quick and dry fix for bad fits. That just happened with this humongus giant shell that Variations is. I put on SF and heeey this is fine. But then I slap Final E and it just sounds better.

Also one thing I noticed, spinfit create pressure on my canal. If you’re using non vented stuff, spinfit just amplify that in my case. Happened to me on Lokahi and FD5.

Speaking of Final E tips, do folks recommend getting these 3x same size with nozzles:

Or just getting the Final E1000 (E500 are out of stock in UK) for a range of E tip sizes to tip roll plus a so-so IEM with a little more money?

Reason is being kinda interested to see how the Final E tips sound and I know my size for any standard tips, but I remember reading somewhere that the Final tips are a tad smaller than normal silicon tip sizes? If so then I’m not so sure about size anymore and I can’t determine which is a better deal: 3x same size for that price is pricey, but a little more for a variety of sizes and a IEM good at least for calls seems like a reasonable deal.

Much appreciated if folks could say how the Final E tip sizes compare with other silicon tips!

I got E1000 for like 25€ so I got all sizes + the IEM.

I don’t use the same size in every IEM. Final E are best for bass boost with small noozles

Kinda depends, on IEMs like the Final e1000 (bullet style) I use smaller type E tips and for more standard IEMs I use the large tips . So if you use a variety of IEM insertion types then the variety you get with their IEMs might come in handy.

What’s your preference curve/music styles?

I am mostly rock/metal listener but I don’t mind other genres with songs that can be fun to listen to. Not modern pop songs though, in my opinion they’re overproduced crap with no soul but that is just me. As for curves? I am not really a full believer of them for it’s more like some kind of guide to me than a dictation that says “This is the true sound of it, and you’re not going to like it.” Yeah sure, you don’t like it, but what if I like it? You know?

For rock and metal tea do a great job. In addition to the fast dynamic driver, Sonion’s balanced drivers are good for midrange. The guitars sound fast, the soundstage is good and they have a good separation! The important thing is that they do not sound thin and have a good image.
