Finally got the Mangird Tea a couple days ago. Iām sad to say that the Tea are already endangering my Dunu DK-2001, as my daily. The vocals have just that much more presence on the Tea
Ditched the stock cable, primarily because of the gap, thatās inherent to the type B(?) style termination
Do you (all) think the Tea is a good IEM for people with small ears? I wanna buy them for a friend as a birthday gift, listens to music all day but has never entered the audio game, I wanna blow her mind.
But she has really small ears so itās probably best that her first proper set fits her perfectly
The Tea is one of the smallest IEMs that still tries to do the ear contour thingy. I have no idea if thereās a word for that sorry. The thing about the Tea that is unique about its shell is that the body is quite small but the nozzle is quite long. So anyone listening to the Tea will probably want smaller sized tips vs something like a Blon BL-03 that has a very short insertion where youāre forced to use much larger sized tips. Comfort will be up to the individual and the tips used.
Teas are a IEM of cult and taste. They are my bring to a Desert Island so far.
Mangird Tea FAQ:
Giant Killers? Nope (spoiler: giant killers are giants that fit your Library)
Will please everyone? No, no IEM will. But never seen someone despiting them. They do nothing wrong, they may just not fit your library.
Are they beautiful? Subjective, for me, they are.
Are they cheap? Cheap is subjective, everyone and every wallet are different. They have an high cost-to-performance ratio. 300usd golden bracket baby.
Can be end-game? Yes. They are, for me, so far.
True upgrade? Hard to tell. If you want to keep your sub-bass, Monarch/Variations. If you want your mid bass to still be there, maybe Oracle, but donāt quote me on this one.
Real Real for Real Upgrade? Maybe Mest/Mest Mk2.
Should you buy it? Well, as long as you donāt need the money for something essential, sure.
I totally agree with this statement of teas being an end game for anyone, I got mine about a month ago after knowing about it from BGGRās review of them and seeing a comment about them being a mini clairvoyance.
And if I could rewind back to a year ago and just have bought this set and not everything else up to this point (bar the mest mk II) Iād have called it a day with IEMās.
Well they are different for sure. I love the Teaās bass, it rumbles, it slams, it has good control and does not bleed into the mids. Having said that, the Zenās bass does all of that + slams harder and has a quality to its presentation which i never heard in any other IEM.
It is all about the character and quality, the Zenās bass has more quality overall and also has a specific character to it as well, it is kind of hard to describe.
Nice, I got mine from Drop for $259 with the $21 discount code they had. They still have not shipped yet though.
Looking forward to them! So much praise, even over a year later which is a great sign. Iāve seen way too much hype in this hobby with a new product that comes out, then about 3 months later itās just mediocre. A few IEMās and Headphones stand the test of time and it seems like the Tea is one of them!
