đŸ”¶ Mangird TEA (6 BA/1DD)

I spent too much time and aggravation on it, so I just took the hundreds I was spending on mechanical keyboard stuff elsewhere and wrote them off.

No. They refused to help me. I buffed the scratches out of the cups and tried my best to bend the metal back into form.

Another reason I think I’m done with DROP but also the headphone manufacturer.

Oops I thought you were talking to me. Sorry.

So they just took a few hundred dollars from you? Cant you reverse it with your credit card company or something?

I could have, but I didn’t want the hassle of a dispute. I was also in the middle of some major purchases at the time and didn’t want to F with my credit.

For the record, by no means am I promoting sales for Drop; just going for the lowest price available for me haha. My experience with Drop are only low priced items like Tin T4 and Koss KPH30i, so I imagine that these are easier dealt by them then the pricey stuff

I also know that Drop has a bad track record, and more when it was called Massdrop. As for shipping hold-ups, I imagine all platforms and sites would have the same chance of bumping into it. If I were to go with the safest bet, Amazon UK would be the chosen one for sure!

@nymz You have heard both the Aladdin and Tea, correct?

Yanyin Aladdin vs Mangird Tea, go!

(I’m quite interested in the Aladdin)

Nope, just teas. I’ll skip Aladdin since they are close and Teas graph suits me better. Teas are close to end game for me

Let’s try the CP145 large first

Initial take:

More satisfying to me than Tanchjim Oxygen ($270).

The Tea seems clearer in the low mids/bass. Or that is to say, the Oxygen has a bit too much elevation in the low ends.

Comparing the Oxygen to the Tea, the Tea has clearer to hear mids. Voices stand out more and without the haze of would-be bass in the forefront.

Try this to hear what this impression is from
.

This is getting a video for impressions!

Try the spinfit cp500, if you have them. They’re my favorites on Teas so far.

Impressions! A+. Prefer em over the Xenns UP for tuning alone. Neutral bright. Great stuff. The UP, on the other hand, has too much warmth for me at times - had to demote them to A, now that I have the Tea in hand.

Impressions only! Ranks fluctuate with time, but for now the Tea are my top pick under $300 (better than the Oxygen for my taste). The Oxygen, at $270, was my top pick at this price point, but now feel too warm compared to the Tea.

You just got my respect. A+ is technically an S, lets pretend.

Nice, i 100% agree with everything you said there. I kept my Teas and sold the UPs, no regrets.

EDIT: I was just now listening to my Dunu Zens and decided to put the Teas on to compare, it was a few days since i was using the Teas only in the living room for watching movies, geez man the Teas sound soooo good it gives the Zen a run for its money. The only aspect of its sound where you can tell it is a cheaper / less coherent set while comparing to the Zen is the BA treble imo, but then again the Zen is a single DD so not really a fair comparison.

I like that you index by enjoyment. You’re also succinct (as you’d hoped) and throw out relatable examples for what you’re hearing/describing. Thanks for making/sharing.
