Meze 99 cable (balanced) replacement

So I recently got the Meze 99 Neo, pretty happy with them, particularly the comfort feels nice.

The only thing i don’t like about them is the shitty cable, it’s rubbish. At first, i thought i could use my hart Audio dual 3.5mm which can technically run but not to 100%, the connectors aren’t deep enough so i get a channel imbalanced (which isn’t there with the stock cable).

So any recommendations? (no fucking way I’m paying 120$ for meze’s “special cable”)
I saw a " NewFantasia HiFi" on amazon and the few reviews seem to be fine but id like to hear from folks who have actually gotten a cable to work properly
Im thinking of buying a 2.5mm (for my BTR5) and getting a XLR and 4.4 adapter

Some peeps here already recommend the NewFantasia cables.
If it’s cheap & fits, might be a good choice.
You can keep your eyes open for good cables on aliexpress too.

the day that someone will make adapters for all these needlessly stupid connectors will be a happy day.
The day everything will have a dual 3.5mm balanced cable will probably the same we get world peace

But thanks was kind sketched since “NewFantasia” doesn’t sound like much

Hokey Smokes! I bought Meze’s own balanced cable for my 99 Noirs about a year ago… as I recall, it cost less than $50 then on Amazon. Now the price has more than doubled. That’s just nutty!

Is it Meze branded? cause the “original” didn’t even pop into my amazon recommended
And yes its a fucking outrage to pay 120 for a cable… Hell I paid less for my Hart audio cable for a the same kind of cable with modular connectors

The one I bought last year has the Meze logo on it, and I assume it’s not some fake. It certainly works okay.

I just checked, and the Meze branded balanced cable I bought isn’t the same as the silver one, and it’s still available for $49 from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/99-Series-2-5-Balanced-Cable/dp/B07FQ2BCK5?pd_rd_w=P09eZ&pf_rd_p=4b669301-73fb-4bbc-9a24-97512428ca05&pf_rd_r=CHWYVHF9XH7J20F51QMY&pd_rd_r=ccc43e39-549a-4e5c-a0df-8c63a412d85e&pd_rd_wg=dRfqI&pd_rd_i=B07FQ2BCK5&psc=1&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_36_t

If the above link doesn’t work (for some reason, Amazon has this cable in their ‘industrial and scientific’ category), the cable is still in Meze’s Amazon store… there is only a 2.5mm version… I use a 4.4mm adapter for use with my DAP.

The only problem is its the same shitty cable as the stock one, so i might as well pay the extra for a decent cable (not audio-wise but something that isn’t a janky and inflexible mess)

Oh, my bad, then. I will go stand in a corner of Louisiana now.

Is just recommend getting a Hart system. Makes it super easy to adapt to any application, and you can keep interconnects for other headphones.

At first, i thought i could use my hart Audio dual 3.5mm which can technically run but not to 100%, the connectors aren’t deep enough so i get a channel imbalanced (which isn’t there with the stock cable).

Like i said, love my Hart audio cable, but they don’t fit, the sockets in the headphone are too deep for a regular 3.5mm jack, they use a very “skinny” 3.5mm plug that actually goes in the headphone

Ahhh, didn’t that part didn’t register. Bummer.

Ya at first i though “great it actually works” but after listening for a 2 seconds i started noticing the imbalanced which bummed me out

Well… what you could do, if you don’t mind a little soldering, is order an extra Hart cable and snip the ends off for a couple of slim ones off of eBay or another cord. I’ve done that before (though not with a Hart cable).

Na dont wanna end up messing my hart audio cables, they were expensive as all hell to get outside the US. So im not gonna risk messing them up when i can just buy a cable for 50$
