Hello!
After trying many different sets of closed backs I think I’ve nailed down the two I’m deciding between in terms of closed backs under 200$ or less.
Headphones I’ve tried:
Koss Pro4s
Sivga 006
Takstar pro 82
All of which are generally sub 100 but I honestly can’t find much competition for these headphones above 100 yet under 200.
I used the 82s for a loong time until I finally abused them enough for the right channel to stop working (and yes It was not the cable). I like the 82s a lot but in pursuit of an upgrade there rlly isn’t much under 200$.
I want a pair that will scale with gear preferably.
I settled on the mh751s because they are basically the 82s, I am yet to find anything better than them in the price range and I already know how they sound and feel and I know I can’t go wrong.
I also am considering the ath msr7s as they seem maybe not a direct upgrade from the mh751s but from what I’ve heard they have a signature I like with increased highs and I am willing to spend more than double the mh751s for them because from what I’ve heard they are pretty good and I want to take a leep into a better set of closed backs than the mh751s.
I haven’t seen any reviews or articles saying whether the msr7s are worth buying or are even an upgrade from the mh751s, I guess because they technically are in their own price tier.
On a side note
Also any thoughts in comparison to the 006s?
Ive been using them temporarily until I figure out what I want to do and I honestly love them but I am a musician and record frequently and the 006s don’t rlly meet the neutral and accurate sound that I want when listening to recordings. I haven’t listened to the 82s In a while due to them being broken I can’t remember which has a better sound signature or at least which sound signature I like better.
I did use the koss Pro4s for recording but I sold them recently to buy a new set which is what I’m doing now. As the Pro4s were kind of lacking for casual music listening.
Basically what I’m asking: is it worth getting the msr7s over the 751s? Or just save the 100$?
