▶ MiniRig 3

My 2cents review for these speakers.
Note: I’m far from a technical expert or audiophile.

The package is kinda simple but I believe has the adequate support and protection for the speakers. No visible damage on my pair of MiniRig Mini 2’s.

Pairing is not that hard if one reads the instructions. Press and hold to turn on, search for speaker in the Bluetooth settings on the device you want to pair with, and that is done. Using the TWS is another thing, but also kinda straight forward, turn both speakers, pair only one, double press the power button and wait… (should have both speakers close).

My observations are that they have some hiccups while on TWS mode, now and then.
Had a bad experience with these while on TWS. One of the speaker, the one not paired, started making a loud high freq. sound. Quickly turned the speaker off in hope to protect it from damage. From that moment on, the speaker that was paired with my smartphone simply didn’t play sound via Bluetooth. Tested it on a Windows PC with the 3.5mm cable and it worked. The way I solved this was on my smartphone, under the Bluetooth settings, I turned of the “HD audio: Qualcomm aptX audio” and it worked. After that I turned on that option again and it still works…

I’m guessing some weird stuff is happening with the software part of these speakers.

Even so…enjoying the sound and hope they will survive a couple of years.

Thanks for reading and stay safe.

Update: the hissing sound still persists… stopping the music and resuming seems to fix it. But this is not normal and I’ll report this asap.
