Just curious, anyone had a chance to check out the matching LP DAC? I havenāt really seen any reviews of it anywhere.
It has not been released yet as far as I knowā¦ probably due to Covid has seen many delays

Iām calling my desktop set up endgame (I know, for now) and focusing on my living room system. The other night I was listening to Annie Lennox Beethoven (I love to listen to). The chain was thus; Holo Cyan, Liquid Platinum (w/mods) and ZMF Eikons.
I realized that to continue to chase better and better sound on my desk that Iād have to pump in a good $3500 dollars moreā¦ and for what?
I donāt know what more there is beyond the sublime. Yeah Iām sure thereās better beyond my current setup maybe even head and shoulders better but Iām simply not willing to plunk that kind of money since even despite that sublime experience, I enjoy listening to my living room system more.
Hence the quit while Iām ahead comment and enjoy what Iāve got which Iām fortunate to have in the first place.
What will I do with the money Iām saving, well dump it into the living room. lol Couple of things in the pipeline which Iāll continue to document in my Zu speaker thread so lots of content there for 2021.
Anyone thinking of a Platinum, itās a crazy good for the price piece of kit with the right tubes and the Cap upgrade mod. If you buy a good pair of tube savers from Tube Monger, (the ceramic ones) you also vent most of the heat outside the chassis so it runs at least where you can touch it and keep your hand on the chassis and it will just be warm. As opposed to touching it and having to take your hand off after 3 seconds or youāll get a 1st degree burn.

Very much agree with your thoughts re endgame (sort of) desktop and I am also concentrating on other areaās My HT is getting close as well as my mobile setupā¦ I am getting to the point of comfort in no matter what locale I might be.

Is there possibly a linear power supply for the good one?
According to Asr, itās not quite as good.
But that can also be deceptive.
Iām coming to a similar conclusion. Iāve never heard recorded music sound better than it does with BF2/Ares 2 + MLP + HexV2 (w/ my Lawtonād TH-X00 and LCD-2 PF close seconds). I know to beat that combo Iāll have to spend multiple kilobucks. Certainly there is better out there - folks on this forum discuss better stuff frequently - Iām just not sure Iām ready to justify that cost. Also I hope to be buying a house soon and will be looking for one that has space to build a 2 channel setup 
So for now Iām happy at this tier and exploring out rather than up.

This has been covered several times, the issue with using a Linear PSU on the Liquid Plat is that the PSU is part of the protection circuit. Cavalli himself has commented on this.
People have damaged them using a Linear PSU and then having a power outage.
It will obviously work, and there have been at least 2 made for the V/A requirements, but you chance damaging the amp.

I am arriving at the same station. When I started I was just wanting a better desktop solution that was more reflective of my age - meaning not game oriented and centered around Logitech 2.1 and Corsair headphones. Iāve pretty much accomplished that, and then some. Now, I am looking over at the other part of my man cave and thinking that Iād like to take what I have learned and build out another setup in a more comfortable location - AKA where I have recliners, couches, coffee and end tables etc. etc. along with a larger TV panel and a 2 channel (7.2, whatever) setup. I would like to deck that area out now so that I can sit down, lean back, and really settle in to listening mode. Perhaps with a Four Roseās bourbon or the likesā¦ and chill with my tunes.

Wow - this could not have been said much better sitting from my vantage point.
At some point, one needs to enjoy what they have and actually grow out of it, before chasing the next tier. That doesnāt mean that you stop keeping up with new trends and advances just that you donāt always need to apply them right away, or force fit them in.

I had the Vali 2 for a while, but I soon got bored.
But if the psu damages the device, I wonder why it was criticised on Asr with the normal power supply?
Nevertheless, in the end it will probably run for the Audiovalve Luminare or Solaris for me if that is what I imagine tubes to be.
If thatās what Iām looking for, as I heard with the Mcintosh which was also a tube amp, then so be it.
Then Iāll have peace of mind for the next 10 years and can sit back and relax 
.
A house of my own would be just as nice, of course, with the right furniture where you can really enjoy the whole thing.

I could not agree more. My listening spot is a lazy boy that faces my TV and also has tons of natural light coming in. WAY more comfortable and relaxed than a desk top set-up.
Nah. Jasonās just making stuff to smoke Amirās favorites and shut him up.
Amirās measurements are full of holes btw. He misses at least 70% of the real picture. But, what heās doing is successful because it purports to give simple answers to complex questions. Because complex is hard - so something that looks/sounds easy is eagerly consumed.

the weird thing Is I also did some digging and he seems like he was already independently wealthy without the ASR website, so I guess anything to put a bit extra in his coffers I guess (also remember reading somewhere on the forum he refuses to buy anything himself, so everything is either sent or loaned out by a user on there)
