šŸ”¶ Moondrop Aria

Youā€™re probably right, for the glue. Though I canā€™t try and confirm: I didnā€™t try to open the other sideā€¦

I completely agree on the rest of your post: Aria is a great set, but I canā€™t rec it given the QC reports.

why in the hell are these so shit?
theyre shouty if theyre at a good level for detail and theyre bloated as shit in the bass, whatever the fuck that shit is
these are some of the worst i have ever heard, i have the ep05ā€™s that do a 10x better job at detail somehow

Yep, worst audio purchase I ever made. They are very, very dependent on fit though, they wouldā€™ve been better as a CIEM.

THEY FIT ME PERFECT
lol
still on their way back to amazon xD
i will never trust anyone who recommended these, i refuse to accept these as preference. Nothing about the sound is quality haha

I think this is the perfect time to get the Snow Edition Aria instead to the people who are not really impressed with the original ones. At first I was since it was at that time one of the IEMs to get for its price, but I donā€™t see that as a case anymore since my Starfields are much better in terms of sound delivery in my opinion, due to its mids. Also adding the fact that there are more IEMs nowadays with the same price range that are much better than the Arias.

An another set of IEMs that pretty much beaten this would be my T3 Plus, for I think itā€™s so much better since itā€™s more natural sounding, for there are some moments where the Aria tries to make some of songs in my library add that so called ā€œsparkleā€ and it can be odd at times times for me to listen to it. Sure the T3 Plusā€™ resolution is average at best, but to me when I pair it with the Spring Tips and a better cable, itā€™s all a wrap for me, as evidence that I have been using the T3 Plus more often than the Aria.

any idea how to get the pins out

Oof, that is going to suck right there. I think itā€™s best to replace those 2 pin sockets with a new one and DIY-ing those Arias can be a pain in the ass, for opening up one based on the experience I had with my Katos was a pain in the ass. Itā€™s best to get a replacement at this point if itā€™s still under warranty, if not you cannot go wrong with a little bit of DIY, you just need some patience though.

how long last the warranty and where i can get replacemnt parts

I think itā€™s best to check with the seller you bought it from and tell them about the issue that happened. Also I think online you can order some 2pin sockets as replacements, though a bit of soldering skills and prying up your Arias are needed in order for yours to get fixed, if itā€™s no longer under warranty.

u said that u have opend one iem ,so what is the best way to open it

I used an exacto knife to pry it open, and be sure to take your time and do it slowly where you can see the seems of the IEMs, you know, the little gaps in the center of your IEM? Thatā€™s is where you slowly put your knife on it and slice it up and down slowly.

Hereā€™s a video that can serve as a guide.

On my Aria, one side almost fell open when I applied pressure, and the other side took around 20 minutes of working on the glue with an Exacto knife. I took several breaks because my hands were cramping.

Yep, same as me when I did the Katos. Not going to lie, I was tempted just fucking smashing it open with enough force just to get it over with but I am glad I persisted patience and was able to open it.

Just got the Moondrop Aria Elven Maiden, have tried it for 2 days straight. My first impressions are the presentation, itā€™s great. Probably the first Miku collab product that isnā€™t pile of crap. It is great that I actually want to use it everyday and not just an collectible thing.

Sound wise many has reviewed it better than me so not much words from me. I changed the eartips with Moondrop wide bore.

  • Soundstage is good, wide enough to enjoy orchestra, but lacks depth for me. (Love you open back headphones)
  • Imaging are hit and miss, sometimes it is pin point accurate, sometimes the instrument is flying or sunk than others lol.
  • Itā€™s detailed and handles busy songs great.
  • I donā€™t talk tonality because i have weird preference than most. I mostly focus on technicalities. Just for fun, I gave this to my dad (heā€™s more sensitive to tonality than me) to try and compare it to 65 dollar Nakamichi MV500. He prefers the Nakamichi better because the vocal is not recessed.

Things fall apart when i held and install the cable, it is JUNK lmao. It also needed an unnecessary amount of force just to plug it in, itā€™s hilarious. Well, time to buy new cable :upside_down_face:

Then came the famous paint chipping problems, mine has a paint defect on the right one. (Not chipping though, just a tiny orange peel)

Lastly, why such cheap eartips with 80 dollar IEM? It is SO cheap, it feels almost bootleg-ish. It came with double pairs each size (12 eartips) in a single tiny ziplock bag, very unnecessary. I understand if it has different bore size (20 dollar Tanchjim Zero have way more eartips but actually decent in quality and have wide AND narrow bore) but it is the same! Why Moondrop? Just give me 3 pairs of good eartips if you want to cheap out.

I bought it for 77 USD, which is not cheap for me. It is good sound wise (not excellent). Iā€™m a weeb and i love the packaging and design. But, seeing the quality issues even when brand new, how long can i enjoy the sound?

Sorry for my bad English and long post. Love yā€™all HifiGuides, awesome community.
