šŸ”¶ MoonDrop Variations

Huuuuuumm yeah, that makes sense. Variations is also different than Mele, but closer compared to fd5 (less bass enphasis).

You gonna love it. In fact, they pair really well imo (Var+Mele)

Hope they fit you. Variations is a monster in size compared to those two.

CP 155 is best match with variations as it’s seems tailored for this iem
Sound and comfort wise is like towards the end game.
Complete with a PW Audio 28 copper v2 will make this iem a beast

Yeah 155 is better than 145. But he doesn’t own it and the Variations is a loaner for now. No sense on buying cp155 just for Variations, as they suck on most other iems, when it’s just for testing.

But yeah. Buy an expensive cable just to demo a set… Right? 🤷

Yup! It’s just a loan for now since my he’s loaning my FD5 as well. And yes. I don’t have the CP155 so I’ll stick to the CP145.

Yeah, I won’t be changing anything other than the tips. Maybe I’ll be rotating between 3.5 and 4.4. I’m honestly scared how it’ll sound like with my korean music library. All female vocals with majority of sub-bass focus songs.

Thats Variations special sauce. You gonna love it for that genre, I think

I hope so too!

I don’t mean buy these for loan set. If he intend to get the variations, the tip and the cable is highly recommended

By who? Might share a graph with that cable?

It’s just my opinion after switching between the cables that some recommend to me. I’m not here to debate

Thats my point bro.

I believe you believe in it. But the way you worded it will sound like ā€œI must get this if I want to enjoy Variationsā€ to someone who doesn’t know better and lands here for the first time.

I have no problem with cable believers. I just don’t wanna see people missinterpreting your words.

Hey @Kalnet Spinfit CP100 will be s struggle. You should be able to get away with CP145 but CP155 fit the Varations nozzle perfectly. I hope they are a good fit for your ears. I’m excited for you! The Variations is one of my favorite IEMs. Let us know your impressions after you’ve heard it.

Thanks! I’ll be rotating sizes between (M) and (S) of the CP145 to see which fits me better.

Will definitely give an impression of it!

I use Azla light short on mine and it’s perfect.

I realized this myself just a few days ago. Now I have to buy a bunch of large tips…

How does the dip or flat section on the FR from 200Hz to 500Hz affect male vocals on the Variations?

So I’ve been listening to the Variations with the CP145 (M) tips for about 10 hours now. I won’t share my impressions yet cause I’ve been busy with work but I think i’ve found my personal endgame IEM.

Listening to all of LOONA’s discography, including LOONA’s ā€˜Hi High’ and ā€˜Butterfly’ with those wonderful vocals, sub-bass, lows, and no vocal sibilances literally made me:

chuu-loona-2

I don’t have to think of treble spikes, recessed vocals and vocal sibilances anymore.

So uh… The Variations is now mine

Had a meet up with my friend earlier today and exchanged notes with each of our IEMs. I told him that the Variations was literally made for my korean music library but doesn’t sound as wonderful when listening to some rock songs while the FD5 felt more comfortable on him. He only complained a bit of the treble spikes but other than that, it seem to be perfect for him. His prefer tuning seems to lean more towards the FD5 but wished the treble could be toned down a bit. He did told me that he’s looking into the Thieaudio Oracle or the Mangird Tea since our local audiophile community are interested in them as well so I told him both are hella great. His music library seems to aligned with some of you guys here (nymz, resolution, etc…) so it was easy for me to recommend him these 2 IEMs.

So the reason why I bought his Variations was just because he hated the fitting. He couldn’t last 2 hours with it and thought it would be okay for his ears but it felt fine for me for long hours instead. He gladly sold his variations to me for practically the price of a B2 and he rather sell to me than to someone else or gave back to the audio shop. The variations was barely a month old used when he bought it. I told him I could’ve paid in full for it but to him, it’s just a kind gesture and as a friend of having the same hobby and also seeing how much I loved the sound when it plays my music library.

So yeah! I’m now an owner of Used Variations and it’s now my current personal endgame IEM!
