Everyone loves a Razor. And why shouldnt you? High end Japanese scopes made to a high standard and have been used and abused all over the world. Unlike the G2 Razor’s which featured 6x multipliers, these G3’s……… Are still 6x multipliers. Let me try that again. Unlike the G1 and G2’s, these are… The exact same color. Hmmmm…. UNLIKE the G2’s these are Much lighter! There we go! At just over 32oz this 4-24x44 is a massive 14oz lighter then its G2 3-18x50 brother. Thats nearly 2/3 the weight. The good news doesnt end there. The turrets are excellent. The illumination is still locking. And the fit and finish are as good as they should be. But all isnt flawless here. When you first get behind this scope you will be greeted with the usual Massive view through it that most Razor’s have. The scope body just melts into thin are. And you are left with a gorgeous view through this. From 4-16x(ish) the glass is great. Clear, sharp, crisp. Little to no CA with natural colors. Sadly, once you get into this things upper mag range, the limits of the design start to show themselves. The eyebox tightens to extreme levels, and under less then ideal lighting conditions. The image looses a lot of light. A perfect cheek weld, stable position, and good lighting are a must for taking full advantage of this scopes upper magnification.
