My introduction to hifi

That might be it, as some do have specific ports for charging phones and whatnot

Changing between both the volume stays maxed out at 100, but I see that one will say ā€œSpeakers (TOPPING USB DAC)ā€ and the other ā€œSpeakers (2- TOPPING USB DAC)ā€.

The sample rate/bit depth was set differently, but putting it the same I still get the same result as before.

I have a total of three usb ports with two being 3.0 and one 2.0. It seems that one of the 3.0 ports is quieter while the other two sound the same in volume.

Iā€™d use one of the louder ports, doesnā€™t matter which.
If the other port isnā€™t supplying enough current there is a chance it might be impacting the sound quality.

Alright, I figured out why there is a difference in volume. Once I switched ports, the EQ wasnā€™t applied so there wasnā€™t a -6 in pre-amplifying anymore.

That will do it lol

Any reason to turn off any equipment or not use headphones/iems/speakers during a thunderstorm? Can anything happen to them if the power goes out suddenly?

Yes, I would say even unplug them in a serious storm if you want to be cautious, you can have equipment get fried on you if there is a lightning strike, brown out, or just some electrical strangeness. I would just be careful if you are going to use your stuff during a time when electricity has the potential to be flaky. Most modern electronics will be able to protect themselves to some extent and you will mostly be fine, but it can happen for sure

Is possible for the dynamic range of a headphone to be over exaggerated instead of how it should sound or is there a physical limitation preventing this?

I mean perhaps if itā€™s unnatural, I donā€™t think too much dynamic range is a large issue, but I mean not enough range is clearly an issue. I think a good example of a focus on dynamics headphone is the focal elex lol, I think thatā€™s a more dynamic headphone than most, but I donā€™t think itā€™s exaggerated per se. Some might have some issues with it but personally I donā€™t mind it

I donā€™t know anything about car audio and it just occurred to me, I wonder what you can bring along with you to use at a drive in theater. As far as Iā€™m aware, the movieā€™s audio comes through your radio. What can you use in this situation?

So I mean, it would really depend on how itā€™s set up lol, I havenā€™t been to a drive in since I was a kid so I donā€™t know if they have modernized lol. If they still go with transmitting through radio, then you could perhaps get a nice tuner to use and beef up your car stereo

For these iems with multiple drivers, is there ever a driver assigned only to frequencies you shouldnā€™t be able to hear? Say a balanced armature for 25k-40k in the frequency response of the iem.

I mean not really, there typically isnā€™t a driver only in the ultrasonic range, but most of the time the highest tuned driver is in the upper limit of human hearing and extends to the ultrasonic range, but typically there isnā€™t specifically a driver that only operates in ultrasonic ranges. There are a few manufactures that do this like sony in their speakers, as they have a tweeter that is only in ultrasonic ranges, but itā€™s not very common

Has anything ever manipulated air to give a better sense of realism? An example to what this statement means to me is someone whispering into your ear in a song. Sure you hear it, but you donā€™t feel their breath interacting with your ear, but maybe there is a way to do so if you can have something blowing air into your ear maybe with a mix of moisture to give a more human feel to it since we have all have saliva which I assume gives the air we breath out moisture to it. Of course, the second area with the moisture aspect may cause issues with condensation, protecting the equipment from water, and how you safely store this water with itā€™s neighboring electrical equipment.

Starting to sound like this guy:

Iā€™m sorry but thatā€™s a bit freaky lol, that does not sound pleasant to me at least lol. Anyways, thatā€™s one of the reasons people like speakers, as they pressurize the room, and give you actual impact and body, along with air movement, subs are excellent at this. Some headphones can have more perceived impact and air movement with larger drivers like the larger driver hifiman for example.

What you describe kinda sounds like a 4D movie or something lol, not sure people want the exact same experience listening to music lol. 4D rap but when you hear a gunshot you just get shot lol

Well there are gaming headsets like the Nari Ultimate with haptic feedback. Not the same thing you are talking about, but I see that as more of a distraction.
