My LS3/5A System (REL or Rythmik or other?)

Will do! I think the forum is aware of how much I enjoy taking photo’s of gear lol

My yamaha has two sets of binding posts but the parasound has only one. I’m assuming going speaker level I can put but sets of speaker wire to the same binding post with the parasound?

And doing this there is no chosen crossover value I would just need to adjust the subs until they sound right?

I would just get spades for your speaker cables, and then banana for the subwoofer and go into the same binding posts for both (so speaker and sub go on the same binding post)

You would want to set the crossover on the sub to your preferences and system needs yes

Good idea. Nice clean way of accomplishing that :ok_hand:

Speaker level is the route I’ll go then. Thanks.

Also perhaps gives you an excuse to try out a higher end speaker cable if you are interested lol, but yes this is the way I would do it

We’ll see lol you think this setup is on the level where it’s something I should factor in?

Something to try eventually lol

Okay so the L12 isn’t available with the A370PEQ amp which means no speaker level inputs.

So does this change things or is the L12 with line level inputs only still the way to go?

Does the F12-300 have the ability for speaker level in? (a bit cheaper than the regular f12)

Looks like the 300 only has one xlr and one rca and the 400 has the same inputs as the L12

Hmmmm well I guess if you want speaker level in you would have to go to the f12’s which would prob be too costly tbh. I do think you could make do with the rca in since you can pass through the parasound but that isn’t going to be as ideal as the speaker level inputs tbh

One f12 shipped (not including border fees) is getting close to the cost of 2 t/5i’s shipped (REL has Canadian distribution, Rythmik does not)

Putting money into a local business is pretty appealing to me as well tbh

Hmmm well if you were to go rel, I would highly recommend stepping up to the t/7i or t/9i imo

That would even the playing field again lol

It’s just hard for me to recommend the t/5i since it really does kinda lack good extension and proper impact which is kinda important in a sub imo. I do think they sound good but to me they really do feel more like another woofer rather than a subwoofer. The t7i does tend to reach a bit lower and is more impactful, generally more impressive to me and it actually sounds like a sub

I think I would go for the F12’s before I’d purchase t/7i’s which I’ll most likely do in the next few days. Appreciate the input :+1:

Sorry for kinda suggesting the higher budget option lol, it’s just that if you get high quality subs now, you won’t really have to worry about them later or needing to upgrade and you will have subs that actually pull their weight and perform, I just personally at least tend to have high standards for subs, although realistically the rel would most likely do just fine for most people

That’s my thought too tbh. I don’t mind the cost and I think that even if the speakers don’t suit me the subs are something I can integrate with different speakers and gear moving forward.

Fingers crossed that what I’m building here is to my liking though lol
