I have the topping MX3, love all the connectivity it has. but when i turn up bass it starts to clip around 80%.
looking to upgrade to something on the cheaper side that can push the bass.
i do game aswell, i was looking at the Shiit Hel as a option, but wondering what you guys would suggest as a alternative??
So, personally I think that if you want a quality mic input, you could get a focusrite scarlett solo and an amp like the jds labs atom or monolith liquid spark. You would get an upgrade in headphone and mic sound quality
that liquid spark has lots of power? want my bass load enough to skip my heart
It has plenty of power imo, what headphones are you using? It is also a warmer sounding amp with a slight bass bump so that’s also nice

i think they are 32 oms, but they are quiet compared to a 80 oms headset i have.

Yeah, the liquid spark should be just fine then imo, plenty of power
just that they are quieter then the 80 oms dt 990 which is weird, Z said in his review he wonders if the cable is holding the headset back, and its a none replaceable cord
Well I think it has to do with the tuning more imo, but who knows. There are guides on a detachable cable mod for beyers if you are interested, but it’s somewhat involved if you don’t know what you are doing
its a remvable cored, but its a 5 pole that geos into the headset
My bad lol, got confused for a second, I thought you had a gen 1 not a gen 2. I personally don’t think the cable is the issue, the amp in the mx3 is just somewhat weak and not that great imo, the mx3 is more a speaker amp than a headphone amp
