So currently I’m running a Yamaha rx-v381 5.1 receiver. I’m running it in 3.1 with three KEF Q100 as l/c/r and a infinity sub r12. I’m looking to get a new receiver so I can retire this one into my family room and possibly do a full 5.1 system in there at some point.
I’m looking for a new receiver to run this system off of and I likely won’t go past 3.1 for this room (it’s a bedroom and I have space restrictions due to other stuff in the room) is there a obvious upgrade from the Yamaha in the $300 price range? I use this system for both music and movies/anime and a little bit of gaming. Looking for a step up in audio quality if possible and it has to have 4k and hdr support. I’m willing to buy used or refurbished.
