Of course, if you have any questions just ask and either I or someone else will most likely be able to help
Yup no problem. Are you using an iphone or android?
You will most likely need to get an otg cable like this to hook it up to your phone
You would want to bypass the dac and amp in the op and use the dac in the fiio if you could, it allows you to take advantage of the better dac inside the fiio. Same with pc, it will come with a usb cable and you can plug it into your pc and use the dac and amp inside the q1 mk2
You can use the amp only inside the q1 mk2 but I would only do that if you have to
@M0N i think q1 mk2 provides a 3.5mm jack connector. i wouldnât have to buy the usb-c adaptor then i suppose?
It does, but then you arenât using the dac inside of the q1 mk2, it needs to operate through usb to take advantage of the internal dac, but you can use it through the 3.5mm in if you would like
@M0N
headset (3.5)-> (3.5) dac (3.5)-> (3.5)mobile
wouldnât the 3.5mm to 3.5 mm wire use the dac inside of q1mk2?
No, the 3.5mm outputs an analog signal, that has already gone through the dac and amp of the phone, so the dac can not use that signal and it would only use the amp of the fiio, a dac needs a digital data stream, and in this case your phone would be providing it with an analog signal so the dac would not be able to use this. Using over usb allows the phone to route the sound data stream into the dac of the q1mk2 and then to the amp of the q1mk2
So to use the dac inside of the fiio you need phone > type c to type b usb otg cable > q1mk2 > headphones
So only use the amp of the fiio and the dac inside of your phone, phone >3.5 to 3.5 > fiio > headphones
I would say the fiio cable would guarantee the most compatibility as they can be finicky at times, but you mainly want a type c to usb micro b cable, and make sure it is an OTG cable (On The Go)
You need the fiio cable otherwise the q1 mk2 will drain your battery
