Need some Amp and Dac Recommendations(Nighthawks)

So I just Aquired a new pair of nighthawks, I really do enjoy audio, so I do planning on venturing further in this field. Looking for a soild Amp and Dac, I found Deal for the El Stack 2 for 400 shipped. Would go Asgaurd but its back ordered. Looking for any other recommendation for around 200- 400ish.

The el stack ii for 400 shipped is a pretty good deal imo, I would say that’s worthwhile imo, it would be a bit cleaner sound but with still good impact and weight to the sound. The asgard 3 with the multibit for example would be more smoother thicker relaxed sounding, a bit more impactful, comes down to preference there.

I agree with this assessment here. I personally use the Hawks with a BF2 and Asgard 3 (little similar to the A3 with the multibit addon.
The Hawks have very fun bass. If you enjoy that and want more slam with it, I would go with the Schiit stack. If you think the bass can be cleaned up a bit, I would go w/ the EL. Best of luck!

How much of an Audio differences is there, I really would like that slam, but waiting for the Asgard 3, is going to awhile becauses it back ordered.

Depends on the person and the quality of the audio file that your using. Some people I have sat with barily notice differences… I have sat with the el stack myself and the difference for me was very noticeable vs the asgard.

@M0N I think that’s the first time I seen you actually recommend the multibit instead of a dedicated dac on the asgard 3 though. Figured you would have recommended the modius or something.

While the modius is more detailed and also cleaner, I would say the multibit module actually has better punch, more accurate timbre, and also more impressive staging than the modius, but if you want to tighten the amp up and make it a bit more clean and neutral leaning (although it’s still going to be slightly warmer), the modius is a good pick

I am honestly surprised your selling it that cheap. M0N has told me about that one quite a bit been meaning to try that one myself but I am broke as hell right now lol. Definitely sure M0N can better explain the signature to that thing then I can

It’s going to be a brighter, revealing, and focused sounding amp. Good control, tight but deeper stage, analytical but not fatiguing, would be good if you really wanted to boost the hawks treble performance, but personally that wouldn’t be my amp of choice for the hawks (at least for what I expect out of them), good price though

Definitely go EL stack at that price. I really enjoy it with my Hawks. It’s brings detail out and opens up the stage a bit compared to my THX stack. Bass/mids are still amazing and the EL keeps everything in control.
