Hey guys,
I have a hard decision on wether to buy or not buy the Focal Clear Mg if i already have the HD800s.
Could you guys help me out and if somebody of you tried both of them. Could you give me some insights on the sound profiles or do direct comparisons? Because there not really any out there who really compare them directly.

that said, the original will be more fun than the Mg, as those have a cooler / more analytical sound.
What is it about the 800S that is making you itch for a different set? What interest you about the Clear Mg? Also, what DAC/amp are you using? Maybe your issue with the 800S could be resolved through EQ, modding, or a different DAC/amp.
My 2 cents, having read about both but never heard either, is that they’re both really great sets that are on the same tier. Unless there’s something you can’t stand about the 800 that you know is way better on the Clear, you’re likely to end up side-grading or getting a pretty minimal upgrade.

So I want to try the Focal Clear Mg because i saw a lot a reviews and i want to try a fuller ,a little warmer and narrower soundstage, because when i play games, watch trailer or listen to some specific music with the hd800s. It feels more like i am serparate from the trailer, video, game or whatever i am doing than when i tried with my sundara ,it was a lot more relaxing, impactful and narrower. Furthermore i felt the music more. On the otherhand if i listen with the HD 800s it really brings out the beauty of music where you even have to cry sometimes.
Hey, thanks for the reply. So i am using the marantz dac1 as dac and the Violectric V340 as amp. About what interrests me, maybe you can get something out about the post above. I already tried EQing and i am not a fan of it because when i tried it after hours it still felt like the sound is fake, i dont know how to describe it. I wanted to use both of them for a little different things you know . When i dont really have any desire to listen to the hd800s i can switch to a much warmer and fuller sound on the focal clear mg and the other way around.
I’ve heard people having great results with tube amps with the HD800s. Tubes should help emphasis more mid range and a richer sound.

100% that HD800S is magic with a tube amp from OTL’s to transformers its just fantastic I can’t really enjoy it without a tube.
