First Batch will be 9 units, including my final unit.

If I approve that final batch, second batch will be additional 15 units.

We purchased raw materials worth of 50 units, if the volume goes up we may need to procure more.

All hand-crafted, hand tested.

Penon sponsored this project so it will be sold through Penon’s network😄

While I don’t particularly enjoy Penons practices lately, I’ll be happy to support this project if it’s within my budget for sure. You’ve obviously put a lot of work into it and the FR seems to be right up my alley, best of luck with the final batch, brother!

Right - if they’re the sponsors I can get past it in the hope that if this goes well the project can continue with different sponsors or independently in future.

I know some people don’t like how penon operate, but they have been very good to me. Im only a customer who don’t review their product.

I ordered 10th and sr8 from them, and they gave me a free iem worth 550 usd, and dunu eartips. They didn’t need to do it and i wasnt expecting it.

They have been good with replying to my mails, and giving me update to my orders.

Credit where it due. To me as a basic customer, they have been great.

what IEM did they give that was worth $550? Honest question cause I never heard of that deal before

Although they’ve been good to me as a customer too, I personally can’t excuse their deliberate alteration or attempt at it of available reviews when people are looking up their products. Plus they can afford to be generous with the scale of some of their markups (mostly their cables) / what their store sells products for vs others (check out various IEM models, old DAPs etc). I’m not saying what decisions anyone else should make though, I can understand supporting them based on their good customer service and handful of excellent tunings and ignoring the rest.

I don’t question that they did it, but I would question the sticker price and apparent worth. They don’t drop MSRP on models regardless of age. $550 5 years ago is absolutely dead stock now sometimes with barely anything vs modern offerings. Just a guess based on their shopfront.

Wouldn’t be my first choice buying a iem for that price, but they did send it for free, and i appreciate it.

Even tho that is true and i believe you that is the case but that doesnt change the fact that they did send it for free. Also dunu tips.

I have bought from ae, linsoul and hifigo. I have never ever gotten something like that for free.

thats fair although I agree wth @rattlingblanketwoman that imo the prices on these sets is higher then they should be. That IEM in reality should be at least half that but it is cool they sent you a free one. I for one prefer their old deals where they give you a discount on the IEM you are buying instead of what they do now which is throw in a no name IEM that may not sound great and will be impossible to flip. I dont need more IEMs!

I think the difference is that the Penon IEMs I have heard are not worth the price tag themselves so when you buy from Penon you may be getting two IEMs for ~$500 but you could have gotten one better IEM for ~$300 from AE. It seems like Penon is giving you a deal but in reality they aren’t.

Businesses don’t do things unless its beneficial for them and they make money

EDIT: I will say I think its cool that Penon throws those freebies in though as they really dont have to and if you like the set @Vafler even better! Its obviously beneficial for their business and there must be some data that it helps sales and their bottom line or else they wouldn’t do it but for the individual its a nice add. I got some PAC buds from them a while back and still have them (The only Penon thing I still own funny enough).

I have NM2+, and it’s not my cup of tea.

A CNT driver with this level of aggressive treble is too fatiguing.

Not sure if NF Audio managed to get away from that type of tuning, but the built and packaging belongs to very good ones.

Even admitting that the upper mids gain is too much I went through quite a while of loving that set, maybe the timbre of the bass or certain other pros all working together.

Still have the NF Audio NA2+. There’s boosted upper mids and treble extension, but there’s something very technical about it. If they had made a less aggressive tuning, it would have been a benchmark for DD at any price!
