No Output from M500 MKIII

I feel very dumb at the moment.

The balanced port on my ifi ZenDac v2 crapped out so I went and picked up an SMSL M500 MKIII. Got it set up, USB in from my PC, and plugged my Sundaras in up front. No matter what settings I do for input/output on the display I can’t seem to get any sound out of the thing.

I can see on the display the sample rate change based on whats playing, just can’t hear anything.

I feel like I’m missing something very very stupid I’m just not sure what.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Check on the PC what output device is selected.

I have tried setting output to the M500 both in windows and in specific applications, rebooting, and reinstalling the driver. Still nothing.

I’ve had those a few times. Check in the menu to see if headphone out is selected, you can toggle it as a DAC only as well. It’ll be like “HP out” “Line out” or “both” on the menu.
