hmm, can think of 2 things.

  1. the bass shelf doesnt have that tiny mid-bass “dip” and is affecting the tonality a lot more than expected.

  2. The attack/decay on the 41t is slower and thus causing it to be perceived as darker sounding.

hmm interesting take on the Aure which are in my ears right now. I wouldn’t say the mids are thick at all. They got some magic going on that make vocals forward and detailed yet still has a richness to them that is very addicting.

Aure is maybe my favourite set, love it for the more lush vocals and intimate presentation. Maybe wrong to use thick as the description, vocals have more weight than many sets.

Fun fact as I understand the DD cover whole range on Aure, a part of why the sound is lusher than for example Canon.

I don’t have that cool pics, but I have also cool candies delivered today!

I would be obviously biased, but the shells and craftsmanship look and feel stellar both in hand and in ear. The packaging case is also on of the coolest in its form I have seen (very pocketable).
The sound impression would come, but I had spend very good time with both Hans Zimmer - Mountain and Bruno Mars - Fly As Me, let me tell you that :fire:

This is true, this set has good weight without the warmth of other sets. The stage is stupid wide, easily the widest I have heard and depth is really good. Its not particularly tall but I prefer wide and deep anyway so it works for me. Imaging is spot on too. I wonder if all that space in the shell helps with both of those. What tips did you land on for your set?

Chord Poly meets Mojo2

Kids, do not be me. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to have Roon in the bathroom. Buy transducers. Thank me later.

When @MMag05 sends Aurora to me to demo, I will test them on same cable (I have copies of one) and tips to reduce variables and see how they sound.

I’m definitely going to work to get to the bottom of how they both perform

Omg, you just bought another useless device doing the exact same thing as dozen of others already in your possession (looking at my watch collection) :see_no_evil:

Ahahah, true!

But in my defense, I shrank my collection a lot and going back full circle. More on that later but in short, I’ve basicly sold most of my stuff for the babiez, just reinvested a part.

Rule of thumb, 3 things have to go out for one to come in.

Most wide bore works for me, been a fan of Kbear 07 as they sit so good.
JVC Spiral Dot is also good.

A darker Studio 4, and the Studio 4s were pretty amazing - best at $500 IMO until I get the chance to A/B them with the 07M (sorry guys if you know you know :joy:)

BA bass vs DD bass should sound different?

No idea haven’t heard the 41T yet ( just saying based off graph), but the bass in the Studio 4 is more DD than BA so honestly :man_shrugging:

Super valid point. I have to see some graphs comparing the two on a squig I don’t want to base anything off of this manufacturer graph…
