I chose single DD only because I have two sets that are and I enjoy vocals with them. Meze Alba is impressively good for the $ and Hifiman RE2000 Pro silver slightly more bass forward but still nice and clear for vocals
My hybrids I use for other types of music. The upper freq detail can pull my attention away from vocals as the focus

I do love a single DD too but flatheads if you don’t need the sound isolation have that space ’n

Based on my favorite for vocals being Simgot “King Wonder” EN1000, and that possibly be overtaken by a tweaked Plunge Unity DD - and those both being single DD… that’s what I’m putting.

I dont have any single vocal favorite. But a more neutral or neutral bright set usually fits the bill😊.

Totally agree on the vocals, single DDs keep them clean and centered, while hybrids can sometimes steal the spotlight with extra highs. For me, I usually lean toward singles when I want that smooth vocal focus.

True, it’s not that I haven’t found good vocals in multidriver IEMs. But Single DD is quite well correlated to a good sounding midrange.

Toss up between AFUL MagicOne and BGVP Phantom (OG). Phantom makes the vocals sound especially dense to my ears, but the MagicOne is the 6xx of IEMs. I keep coming back to the MagicOne, and I have yet to hear anything that could replace that set for what it does.
So single BA for now, I guess. Also, while I have more ‘detailed’ sets, for me it’s about highlighting the midrange in a pleasurable way (which includes trimming down some of the top-end.)

Don’t have a pref when it comes to tech but favourite vocal sets are
Mystic8, Penon Impact, Cadenza12
Need more time with it but most definitely also upcoming EJ10 as it got the same midrange magic as M8

So far my favorite sets for Vocals are,
7th Acoustics Supernova, Letshuoer Mystic8, Eminent Ears Sapphire.

I havent tried much but for me so far Mystic 8 and Oriolus Isabellae. I prefer Mystic 8 for that clean vocal and “just enough” low ends but the Isa is so coherent I dont mind the u-shape tuning of it. For the cheapie I enjoy the QOA Gimlet, which actually graph pretty similarly to Isa but more shouty and harsh.
