OK some honest feed back from the iem massive

Once this lockdown shit’s over and investments have catapulted back?..I’d like and iem upgrade rec Max $500-2000 driven by my iFi Micro hopefully to be upgraded after to a Hugo2?

I listen to as my ‘Listening to tonight’ posts…my short list is (A) Voyager 14, (B) Kinera Nanna © Hyla Sarda (D) Solaris and maybe the A8000?

It would great hear what you think…thanks and
:beers:

Looking at anything custom?

So, to double check, what music are you listening to at the moment, and any specific signature?

No I don’t think so, i’ve never had a problem with fit and they’re easier to sell if it’s not a keeper.

Andromeda are a classic around the $1000 mark. I know M0N likes the Hyla Scared which you mentioned and I would also look into the Shure KSE1500, true electrostatic IEMs.

The sarda is good, but not for everyone imo, really depends on your tastes and what you are listening to (really at this range you want to have your preferences nailed down)

Gosh…Music was listerning to Joni Mitchell now to Phaeleh so diverse lol…but no opera or death metal…sound sig…prefer a fast bass response as apposed to a bloated sub style, no bleed into the mids…mids pretty forward ie lower male vocals and upper female vocals on point and not receded, trebles needs to be timber perfect? good crash/splash with a quick decay…highs don’t bother me…
So I guess an analytical sound which can be some what tempered by the sources?..does that help? lol

Gotcha gotcha, well personally from that the final a8000 sounds up your alley, the 64 U12t is also pretty sweet then as it’s more detail forward too but trades a bit of timbre performance. If you wanted something a tad warmer the jomo flamenco is also sweet. The UM MEST might be worth a look as it was pretty unique when I tried it at canjam. Honorable mention would be the dunu luna but personally I preferred the final a8000 as they were going for a similar thing

Also something else to consider might be a qdc anole VX but that might also be over budget

Cool thanks that sorta confirms my feelings about BGGAR’s review of the a8000 sort of the polar opposite of his fav Z1R…i’m sure if I had the :moneybag: i’d like to own :+1:

Tis a shame uk Canjam’s off as it would’ve been awesome to have an iem off with these few :worried:

Stay safe guys and thank you :fist:

Have you heard the Voyager 14?

It’s not really an iem in the traditional sense, but if an open back won’t offend anyone I can’t recommend the LCD-i4 enough. MSRP is out of your budget, but it seems like a lot of retailers have been running sales on B Stock including Audeze themselves. They were $1k last Black Friday from Audeze, and I picked them up for $1300 because they forced some bluetooth/iphone cables on me that I have yet to use. I definitely would recommend new vs used so you can get a 3 year warranty

Oh has it been cancelled?

I’d love to hear them for sure  I mostly liked to be closed being a grumpy old man and not hearing anything or annoying the Mrs lol.

It’s not as bad as some open back headphones, but if she is nearby she will probably hear it unfortunately.

I’d probably second M0N’s U12t recommendation. That was on my short list before I got the i4s on sale. I also got to demo most of the Empire Ears line, minus the Wraith, and there was something to like about most of them. The bass on the Legend X is pretty ridiculous

That bass is cool for sure but not something I would prioritise in an iem for my go to daily…but yeah again if I had the :moneybag: it would be a keeper no doubt.
