Open back headhones for EDM and Hiphop

Hi guys

I am thinking of buying some open headphones. Atm i have the MH 751, i listen most of the times EDm and HipHop and play some games sometimes.

Want to buy something good and confortable in this balck friday.
My main options are:

AKG K712
Hifiman 400i
Hifiman 4XX
Dt 990/880
Philips Fidelio X2

What do you think?

I think depending on the price the k712 and the 4xx/400i area pretty great options

I already owned the k7xx, the sound was meh but the best in terms of confort (im kinda picky on the headbands ). A friend told me that the X2 have some distortion in high volumes…

I can find the K712 for 150 used, the 4xx at 160 (massdrop new) and the fidelio at 110

The k712 is a much better headphone and not really related to the 7xx imo. It is both wide though.

Yeah the x2 does distort, and also imo it’s very muddy and kinda overwhelms most of the music with bass

Ye, my main options atm are the AKGs or the Dt 880

The 880 600 ohm is pretty great imo, so I would say that’s a pretty good choice. What amp will you be using for them?

Atm i have the Syba sonic but ill probably need to upgrade this

I would say so if you want to go for the 250 ohm or 600 ohm (which I think are the best options for the 880)
