Optiplex 7010 DAC sounds great! Why?

I have an older 2013 Dell Optiplex 3010 computer, running Ubuntu Linux 20.04. the built in DAC sounds really good. I am shocked actually. Says it’s an Intel HDA 6 Series/C200 Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller .

Once I got the internal speaker routed correctly, the simple line out on the back of the computer, not the headphone, it sounded great. How is this possible? It’s really as good as my Schiit Modi, how can this be? Maybe I am hallucinating?

Sounds like you’ve hit audio nirvana from the get go. It’s rare but it happens and it is awesome, put your money wallet away and start spending time instead - Listening to Music!!!
