Drop has cut the price for the Opus #2 DAP to $650. Does anyone have experience with it and is it worth to acquire?
I have one, it is a very good player. Quick interface, plenty of power and a good enough battery. It also feels very sturdy and well built. It comes with a balanced output and can support 256GB memory cards as well as it’s internal storage. It sounds great as well, lots of detail and an enjoyable listen.
However the company (Opus) has stopped updating the device. It is currently on Android 5.1.1 and the last firmware revision was on 17/09/2018 .

It looks the part and was certainly a TOTL DAP 2 years ago and the price is okay; but I am not sure if it is worth it today.
But there is plenty of time untill the drop ends.
Take a look at some of the Fiio and A&K players as well. They would be more up to date.
I have the M11 but was intrigued by the Opus
