Crossover layouts done, time to solder…
Looking good so far, great pics to!
Nice looking cabs. I have not tried PE cabinets yet, think I will have to! What straps are those? I love them and would be waaay more convenient than clamps for small bookshelves. I been making them for friends and family for a few years now, addicted to building lol =)
They are Powertec Deluxe Band Clamps, bought them on Amazon.
last night I tried to test my crossovers to make sure they were working correctly before I mounted them inside the cabs and glued the front face on. my test was a fail…
Today I found a different passive speaker to test my DAC-AMP-SPEAKER WIRE path as good. Turns out the problem was the Micca pre-made speaker cables I bought. The crossovers are good to go…
Interesting that the cables turned out to be the issue, well that’s good that your crossovers are good
Complete… I will finish the cabs later, do not know what i want yet.
Sound really good and clean at low volume. Perfect for my small room here. Would definitely benefit from a 2.1 setup.
Great job and thank you for taking time to document along the way. I’m hoping to eventually make time to build something…
They look awesome! Well done.
Thank you, glad you liked following along the build.
I was fun to do this build, already looking to do another build soon…
Thank you, glad you enjoyed following the build progress…
Was exciting to follow =). I love the diy world. Keep up the good work. Look forward to following along future projects.
Neat speakers
Probably the cheapest way to try “horn” speakers too!
In the end, they cost me the same as a pair of RB42’s. It was just very satisfying to build this set of speakers with my own hands.
I have been listening to these for a few days now and I really love the clarity of the music at low /medium volume (my room is 8x8) using only the tone board DAC and the Origain AMP. I stream music from Spotify and YouTube.
