PC headphone for Gaming

Hello there, Ive been using the hyper x cloud 2 for almost 3 years now and Its dying on me. I recently bought the Senheiser 599 SE on black friday and I like the sound but I find them uncomfortable. My ears hurt after a couple of hours of use and I feel the earpads a bit thin( My ears hit the inside and its annoying) I was looking for other recommendations around the $150 or under price range, be open back. I was looking at the philips shp9500 but I want to ask here before jumping the gun on that one.

hey Luqom, welcome to HFG!

it takes a bit of time to get used to a new headphone…just like it takes time to get used to a new chair or new shoes. your’e not used to how they sit or rub against you, so you will fatigue a bit. I have the HD599se as well and it took a good 2 or so weeks to get used to them. so give them time.

I have 1 week of use with them, Will keep using them for 2 more weeks, If I still have the same issue ill return them.

Also do you know of earpads to replace the stock ones? Maybe thicker ones?

SHP9500 seems like it might be a good alternative if Senn’s are bothering.
I’d rather put you in something that you like both the fit of and the sound of though.

SHP’s are a pretty easy loose clamp, which is opposite of Senn’s (and unlike 6-- series, you can’t really bend that clamp away). You’re not likely to change the pads on the Senn’s either, so I’m not sure you can mod much comfort into them if they’re not working for you.
