Hi,
My first post here which I’d prefer avoid and just have an easy choice…
Unfortunately I’ve no experience with such equipment so uneasy for me. So far my best were (still are as haven’t sold) Focal Bathys but - want to get rid of them because:
- HEAVY
- too hot, uncomfortable for more than 1-1.5h… because closed? if I knew…
- because of the two above - using them very rarely
Now I’m going for something that I can use more often/regularly/with pleasure.
So far, after some hearings and just going with advices in the shop (don’t burn me for that) I got FiiO K13 R2R. It will be connected to my desktop and/or laptop. I’m planning mainly for music (Apple Music - they’ve got some lossless quality or Tidal; Spotify still doesn’t have high quality music?) and bit of gaming - but performance on gaming is not important for me. Whatever it will be - not my goal with headphones.
Now for headphones - suppose worst I could say - all-rounders. I’m listening all types of music, depending on time of day, weather, mood. Jazz, blues, rock, pop, electro…
I don’t like headphones being too bright - heard too much ssss (sibilants?) on Beyerdynamic 900 or 1990 (sorry, don’t remember as I quickly crossed them out - I know these are not planars…).
I’m not looking for overly analytical cans as I’m not working with music and I don’t want it to overwhelm and tire with too much details (as for what I read so far seems they do that).
So far Ananda Nano sounded better for me than Stealth. Like how they are ‘open’. Even FiiO FT5 are more expensive - maybe they had better… dynamics, but I think they lacked that stage - it’s not noise, but dead silence where on Ananda Nano there was some opened space - don’t know how to explain. This space isn’t noise, it’s just open space, not like in soundproof chamber - hope you know what I mean…
Anyway, I was briefly listening the following:
- Red Right Hand - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
- Faith - George Michael
- The Way It Is - Prodigy
- Larks’ Tongues In Aspic, Pt.1 - King Crimson
Now I’m also reading a bit so here’s my question:
What you’d suggest for me? (won’t blame for any advice and its results 
)
I also want to listen Ananda Unveiled, Arya v3 Stealth or Fosi Audio i5. Here’s link to the shop I got nearby with sorting and price limit:

As an exercise I also want to try HE 1000 v2… I know it’s above my assumed budget but curious if it’s really worth it, especially considering my ‘needs’ and setup I already own (so PC + DAC).
I’m really curious to hear any opinion or tip that could help me make decision.
One last - I’ll order custom balanced cable anyway so please don’t consider cable quality with your advice/tip/opinion.

Ok, last last.
I jumped to pricy (for me at least) HE 1k because if it’s really worth it… because when I buy something and am happy with it (doesn’t make me unhappy or finds out uncomfortable - as Focals) I simply forget about the subject and don’t look for anything else until I have to (because it broke for example).
