Hello, I’m looking to buy a portable dac/amp for the neumanns (for use with iphone 11). I ideally would like the fiio btr5, but I really don’t think that the btr5 can drive the neumanns (150ohms, 114db) well with its unbalanced 3.5mm (bluetooth connectivity being a plus). I’ve thought about the q5s, but I’m not really sure if I’m ready to spend $300 on it. Would the fiio a3 + es100/btr3 be a reasonable compromise? (i would have liked to go with the a5, but it seems it’s impossible to really find one). Thoughts? Recommendations?

The BTR5 might handle the NDH20 ok, actually. The NDH20 has a 114db sensitivity, which means it’s pretty easy to drive. Do you need Bluetooth? If you’re worried about power you may want to consider wired options like the iFi Hip-Dac or XDuo XD-05.

Yeah I have the ndh20 and it really is not very power hungry.
