How do you like the Verite on the Lyr3?
There are few configurations based on different tubes and ZMF pads I like but my favorite so far is this chain:
BF2-LYR3(Psvane CV-181T Mk.2)-Verite(Universe Perforated Suede). It’s definitely the type of sound I enjoy the most. It’s not neutral by any stretch of imagination. It leans warm but not overwhelming the mids. The highs are airy enough with no sibilant. Timbre is as good as the Ananda. All instruments sound very natural. Lows is very well extended. You can hear and feel everything from sub-bass frequency. The mid bass slam could kick my head so hard when it’s called upon. Sound stage is on the large side and imaging is precise.
The only thing I wish it’s better at is the texture/details on vocal. I’ve yet able to find a good combination w/o messing up with other sound characteristics they’re able to achieved so far. There’s one more tube I’m still hunting for to achieve this. Unfortunately it’s the NOS Brimar CV1988. It’s a bit more than I’m willing to spend on a single tube.
A silver cable may works too but I’m not willing to bet on this.
I hope you can get a good picture based on the quick description above.

you can buy raw silver wire fairly cheap for short runs and make your own if you think it would help. just a suggestion.

Awesome. Yeah as far as pads go I’ve settled on the universe perf leather. I haven’t tried the all suede universe. I think I’m gonna buy the universe perf hybrid for when I want suede. I have the BE2 hybrid perf and wasn’t a fan. They’re ok. Pretty close to the Verite perf leather. The backing/middle foam area is thicker on the Verite and BE2 pads. It’s really thin on the universe and it makes the vocals clearer imo. They felt recessed/slightly muffled with he Verite and BE2 pads.
And the universe makes it feel more open and a larger stage.
I actually took the backing off the Verite pad and I liked what it did to the vocals but the universe pad was still better all around.
That thicker backing/foam on some of pads is definitely playing a part.

Yes. A good friend of mine is making this cable for his Audeze LCD-XC. He’ll let me borrow it once he’s done. Thanks for the suggestion

The all suede is leaning towards neutral sound. It helps in bringing down the lows and highs a notch. I mainly use this to bring down the lows in my chain and the added comfort of suede surface is definitely a big plus.
I use the universe perf. hybrid lambskin/suede when Sylvania Bad Boy or 6CG7 RCA clear tops in LYR3. Those tubes are not as warm compared to Psvane. It has the same sound as the default universe perf. lambskin. The only difference is the comfort of suede surface. The outer and inner wall are still made of lambskin.
Yeah, I much prefer the universe pads too. My Verite and BE2 pads are just sitting somewhere collecting dust now. They’re much more intimate like you said and I’m not a fan of the smaller sound stage.

I made so mods to my system to work better with discord.I don’t use software volume for anything. I have a different preamp and speakers for my music and for discord. for my headphones, I have a BEHRINGER mixer one channel pair for music one for video calls.
i have A/B the BEHRINGER mixer, at unity, I can hardly tell the difference but with ± 10dbm i can hear some differences, more base, less detail.

When this thread popped up a few days ago I couldn’t resist putting together my own. There is nothing necessarily crazy about either setups, but I sure have enjoyed putting them together. I added some more notes (and small essays ) in the diagrams themselves as well. Still pretty new to the forum and really enjoying the overload of information over the past few months. Great community of people from what I have experienced.
Edit: It does seem a little crazy to use the iPad as well and not just my PC. However, I like to keep my monitors full with work stuff and watch/ listen to all, but personal library, on the iPad generally out of convenience. Mainly I have a problem and can’t seem to give up space on any of my 3 monitors.

@sa11297, that Adcom amplifier is a BRUTE. Lots and lots of power, you will never run out of headroom. Works real well with hard to drive speakers and headphones. Higher sensitivity equipment may have a small bit of hiss or buzz. NEVER unplug ANYTHING while that brute is powered up it will FRY it instantly! (Ask me how I know🥴)
Wonderful sound signature, great air, tight bass, very authoritative sound. It takes a short while to discharge all its caps and power down. I love mine and keep it on my desktop setup and use it exclusively with my HE6se and Kbass speakers.
